    About the Author


    Minfong Ho was born in Myanmar in 1951. She spent much of her early life in
    Singapore and Bangkok, Thailand. Minfong graduated from Cornell University, USA,
    in 1973 with a Bachelor of Arts in History and Economics. She went on to do her
    Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing. She is married to John Value Dennis, Jr. and
    they have three children. In 1975, Minfong wrote her first novel titled Sing To The
    Dawn. Her works, which are mainly about life in Asia, have won many awards.
