Dear Principals, Maths HODs and teachers,

I am the Country Director of the International Singapore Maths Competition (ISMC) for Indonesia and
I am writing to invite your students to participate in the ISMC 2020 Indonesia, which will be held on
Saturday 28 March 2020. ISMC is an annual international mathematics competition open to Primary
2 to Primary 6 students (or studying the equivalent of Grades 2 to 6, as of the year of the competition)
from participating schools. It fuels students’ interest in mathematics and spurs them to reach for
greater heights. Each school enters as many students as they wish and the ISMC Challenge Trophy is
awarded to the winning school each year.

Award For each grade level

GOLD the top 5% of the participants
SILVER the top 10% of the participants
BRONZE the top 15% of the participants
Participation Certificate for all other participants
The percentages allocated to awards are approximate and will vary according to the number of students taking
each test and the distribution of their scores.

Every ISMC paper has twenty-five questions. The test duration is 90 minutes. While there exists a
healthy competitive spirit, emphasis is on providing opportunities to build confidence, motivation and
joy of mathematics. This is emphasised through the questions that are written not only to stimulate
students' thinking on how to apply the concepts learned inside four-walled classroom but also to
discover the knowledge behind day-to-day situations and phenomena.

Come together. Over love for mathematics.

Yours sincerely,

Roy
