to the Masses through a Website” which was done under your instruction. We would like to
thank you for giving us the opportunity to work on such a topic at the beginning of our IBA
curriculum. By working on this assignment, we not only gained knowledge about different
areas on how to teach English to the masses, we also explored the need of such a website
for our generation and for the generations to come. We also learned how to communicate in
a group and work simultaneously. This assignment is done through our creative thinking and
the knowledge we gained by analyzing different language teaching websites.

1. INTRODUCTION:

In this world of globalization, the success has become dependent on how well one
communicates with others. English is an important tool to communicate globally. The main
objective of this assignment is to help people learn English as a mode of communication. For
that a conversation-based learning module has been provided through which learners can
interact with others through real-life conversations. The website will include various study
materials including word learning game, chatbot, jokes, interactive videos etc. These
materials will help the learners to learn English in the most interactive way possible.

2. OBJECTIVES:

In Bangladesh, although learning English has been given the utmost importance in our
education system, for many reasons it is far from making people able to communicate in
English properly. In addition, a large portion of population is deprived of basic education.
And, that’s why the need of an interactive website to learn English is a must.

The objectives that this website will try to fulfill is as follows:

 To increase the accessibility of learning English for the masses.


 To enrich people with the free and effective resources of learning English.
 To help people communicate well in English.
 To eradicate the present scenario for the people of Bangladesh by providing effective
ways to learn English.

3. THE WEBSITE IMPLEMENTATION:

The website will be designed in a very conversation friendly way that the learner will feel that
he/she is learning from a real tutor with ease and comfort. The focus here will be on the
content and how the learners will be benefited from them.

There will be a “BOT” which will guide the learner in an enthusiastic way. The process here
will be both interactive and learner-focused. The BOT will be able to conversate with the
learner with real-life expressions and emotions. This will be just like a person talking to
another. The learner can initiate the conversation with the Socially Adapted and Developed
Interactive Bot through microphone or through typing. The BOT is named “SADIB” which is
the abbreviation for Socially Adapted and Developed Interactive Bot. The Lerner can interact
with the BOT in both Bangla and English. The BOT will help the learner on how to start
learning English through this website according to the level of the learner. The BOT will take
an initial test of the learner to learn about the level that the learner should start with after

which the BOT will provide suitable resources for the user. The user will be given advanced
resources each time he/she passes the previous learning module. The BOT will also provide
interactive jokes and stories whenever the user gets bored.

4. THE WORKFORCE FOR MAINTENANCE:

For the initial launch of the website, 2 software engineers will be needed to properly design
and implement the digital and software aspects of this website. And, 5 to 10 IBA graduates
or any qualified graduates will be needed to create the resources of the website.

5. THE CONTENT-PATH OF THE WEBSITE:

For a better understanding, the contents are described in this part in a straightforward way
but in the real website the contents will be presented in a catchy manner to make it more
exciting for the learners. The website will be enriched with exciting usage of colors and
pictures so that the learners don’t get monotonous by watching same design each time. The
site will have the following modules:

5.1 STUDY MODULE:

This is the beginning of our study module. This includes the following two sections:

 Basic Learning  Professional Learning

Each user will start the module from the basic learning. The Basic learning section includes
the following difficulty level:

 Level 1 Learner: Basic


 Level 2 Learner: Medium
 Level 3 Learner: Advanced

The initial level for the user will be determined by the BOT through an initial test. The
performance in the test will determine from which level the user should start his/her learning
through this website.

Each level will have 30 sublevels that the user must pass to enter the next level. Each level
will have contents that will target to improve 4 fundamental skills of learning for the user.
Those fundamentals skills are:

 Reading Skill: The user will be able to see pictures of different situations followed by
a set of sentences to learn about those pictures.

 Writing Skills: The user will now use his/her previous knowledge of sentences in
writing new sentences about similar pictures that was shown in the previous
sublevels.
 Listening Skills: An audio clip will be provided to the user followed by a group of
questions to answer according to the audio clip.
 Speaking Skills: The user will have to use a microphone to explain what he/she
understands about the given scenario.

Each level and sublevels will be designed according to the difficulty level starting from basic
to advance.

The professional learning section will be dedicated to those users who want to learn English
for their work environment only. All the materials here will help the user to cope up with their
work place communication barrier in a very easy way and in the least time possible.

5.2 WORD LEARNING MODULE:

The importance of the usage of words in effective learning of English is inevitable. In this
module we will have the following sections to learn English:

 Words by Category: In this portion, the words will be organized through different
categories such as food vocabularies, family vocabularies, work vocabularies etc.
 Noun, Verbs & Adjectives: In this portion, we will provide some common nouns,
verbs and adjectives to work with basic communication.
 Vocabulary Games: The user will be able to practice their learned vocabularies
through interactive games that will appear automatically after each level.

This part will also have words in accordance with level from basic to advance. The plan here
is to choose 3000 most usable English words and decorate them in this section in very easy
and interactive way. All the words will be provided with pictures to give proper knowledge of
them to the users.

5.3 GAMES AND JOKES MODULE:

While learning any user may feel dizzy and bored. The BOT itself will ask the user if he/she
is bored and want to hear some jokes or play games. The user himself/herself can select this
module as well. This module will include different interactive word games as well as jokes
that can at the same time both entertain you and teach you. This section will be designed
purely to keep entertainment in mind and this section will help to reduce boredom of the

user. Tis section will be competitive and exciting. Each user will be able to see their
individual profile and rankings.

5.4 SITUATION MODULE:

This module is to learn how to communicate at different situations. This module includes the
following sections:

 How to Ask: Here, different ways of asking questions will be provided.


 How to Answer: This section will include how a person should response to a
particular question.
 Common Phrases: This section will include some common English phrases.
 Common Dialogues: This section will include common dialogues between two or
more persons.
 Medium to Advanced Dialogues: This section will include comparatively advanced
situational dialogues.

5.5 ONLINE COMMUNITY MODULE:

A partner can be a great help while learning a new language. There will be an online
community module where the user can get a partner near their locality to practice what
he/she has learned through this website. The online community will be based on different
social media. One can get a partner through giving partnering request to other users.

5.6 DISCUSSION THREAD MODULE:

Discussion thread is just like the newsfeed of Facebook. Here, all the partners of the online
community will be able to share their learning experiences and resources to help other
users. The difference is that in online community section, each partner can conversate with
each other privately but here in discussion thread the conversation is public. One can
compare online community as Messenger and discussion thread as newsfeed. The main
purpose of both is to increase mutual interaction between users.

5.7 NATIVE ENGLISH VIDEOS:

This section is dedicated to only those users who want to know how the natives speak
English. This choice of this section is completely up to the users themselves. Here, different
videos of native English speakers will be provided in according to different categories. This
will help the user learn about native pronunciation and all that.

5.8 CHATBOT:

ChatBot is where the users can chat with SADIB and ask various question about the website
or about different sources to look for in the internet for learning English. This will ease the
difficulty for the users. It can also often ask the learners questions by itself based on their
previous learning to make the conversation more natural and two-way.

6. THE PROCESS DESCRIPTION:

This website is for every class of people. This website can be used from a very little
knowledgeable person to an expert of English. Initially, the overall user interface wil be in
Bangla. But, as the difficulty lever rises, the option of changing the language to English will
pop up.

The process of using this website will be as follows:

ENTERING THE WEBSITE

SIGNING UP THROUGH EMAIL OR SOCIAL MEDIA

INTRODUCTION TO SADIB “THE BOT”

ATTENDING LEVEL DETERMINING TEST

STARTING LEARNING ENGLISH

After entering the website, the user has to sign up through email or facebook or other social
media account. Then he/she will be introduced to “SADIB”. SADIB will take the user to an
initial test to determine the level of the user. After that, the user will be able to start learning
through this website.

7. SUSTAINABILITY:

To sustain this project there must be some revenue or cash flow. The fixed cost of this
project is the maintenance of the site. There are some other costs as well which include the
salary of the instructors or content creators, the cost of research and development and the
cost of promotion. Although, this site will be completely free of cost, the revenue can be
earned through the following sources:

 Professional Courses (GRE, GMAT, IELTS)


 Advertisement
 Donation by free users

 Seminars and workshops

8. PROSPECTS:

Bangladesh is a populous country. As of 2017 literacy rate has reached a peak which is
72.76%. But only ensuring literacy will not ensure skillful human resource development. To
make this large population useful in this competitive world, the proper knowledge of English
Language is a must. And, this need of learning English is ever growing. “SADIB” will play a
revolutionary part in the teaching of English to each class of people. The main problem here
would be to make this website known to every needy person in this country. For that
purpose, various promotional campaigns will be executed at different schools, colleges and
universities of the country. Awareness about this website will be created by spreading how
this website can benefit in learning English for self-development and also as the mode of
communication. And, once people will start using this website, they will refer it to others and
it will be popular to every class of people in no time.

9. CONCLUSION:

To communicate well with the world, one must possess the knowledge of English. And, this
website will play the role to eradicate the communication barrier by providing well organized
resources free of cost and in a most convenient way possible. This website will be a
revolution if used properly by the English learners and one day, the people of Bangladesh
will be able to completely overcome their English communication barrier.
