Consider the 40 ft. long W16x26 beam shown below. The cross sectional dimensions are given. Use UT
Bridge to model the member with loading shown below. In case A, the beam is subjected to uniform
moment. In case B, put a transverse load at midspan and consider i) top flange loading, ii) midheight
loading, and iii) bottom flange loading. What is the Cb from your solutions? Compare the Cb with values
discussed in class.
