Quaternary Consumers

Large carnivores are quaternary consumers. This level is normally the

highest level in the food chain. These consumers are the largest
carnivores/omnivores and they can eat tertiary consumers in the
ecosystem. Organisms at the top of a food chain are called apex
consumers. Apex consumers may have few or no natural enemies.
