Restoration of antiques
Restoration of antiques means cleaning process to remove dust and dirt
from their surfaces such as paintings and drawings. It can be also defined as a
process of rebuilding or replacing parts of them such as furniture, buildings,
and vehicles….etc. that have been damaged or affected by time or have been
exposed to weather or used frequently by people.

Restoration is between a job and a hobby. Some of people consider it as a

job that represent an invaluable wealth for them, while others consider it as a
hobby because they love the rare pieces of beautiful time, since they relive
their past memories. They know that traces of time on each part of the
surfaces of piece are invaluable; so they try continuously to keep its beauty
and value.

The purpose of restoration is to restore the original look of the piece or

restore its role. The method that is used varies from one piece to another
according to the material that constitutes it. Therefore, the users must have
awareness and culture in preserving what they have.
