Size: Approx 5.5” length
Materials:
-Worsted yarn – I’m using Bernat-Soft Grey
-Size 3.75mm and 3.00mm hooks
-Needle for joining parts
Stitch Guide
-Fibrefill for stuffing Ch – chain
-Safety eyes – I’m using size 4.5mm Sc – single crochet
Inc – increase
Notes: Unless otherwise stated, this pattern Dec - decrease
is worked in continuous rounds using stitch
markers to locate the beginning/end of a
round. Work in somewhat tight stitches

Body
Using 3.75mm hook
Round 1: start 6 sc in magic ring.
Or
Ch 2 and 6 sc in second ch from hook.
Round 2: inc in each st (12 sts)
Round 3: sc in each st (12 sts)
Round 4: [sc, inc] repeat 6 times (18 sts)
Rounds 5-8: sc in each st (18 sts)
The next increase round starts to shape the hump where the dorsal fin will go, use stitch marker to
keep track of placement as pictured.
Insert safety eyes.
Round 9: inc in next 3 sts, sc in next 6 sts, inc in next 3 sts, sc in next 6 sts (24)
Rounds 10-12: sc in each st (24 sts)
Round 13: [sc in next 2 sts, dec] repeat 3
times, sc in next 12 sts (21 sts)
Round 14: [sc in next 2 sts, dec] repeat 3
times, sc in next 9 sts (18 sts)
Rounds 15-17: sc in each st (18 sts)
Begin to stuff with fibrefill.
Round 18: [sc, dec] repeat 6 times (12 sts)
Round 19: sc in next 2 sts, dec twice, sc in
next 6 sts (10 sts)
Decrease until closed. Fasten off and weave
in ends.
Beak
Using 3.00mm hook
Round 1: start 4 sc in magic ring.
Or
Ch 2 and 4 sc in second ch from hook.
Round 2: sc in each st (4 sts)
Fasten off and leave tail for sewing.

Dorsal Fin
Using 3.00mm hook
Round 1: start 4 sc in magic ring.
Or
Ch 2 and 4 sc in second ch from hook.
Round 2: sc in each st (4 sts)
Round 3: inc in each st (8 sts)
Round 4: inc, sc in next 2 sts, dec, sc in next 2 sts, inc (9 sts)
Round 5: inc, sc in next 3 sts, dec, sc n next 2 sts, inc (10 sts)
Fasten off and leave tail for sewing.

Flippers – Make 2
Using 3.00mm hook
Round 1: start 4 sc in magic ring.
Or
Ch 2 and 4 sc in second ch from hook.
Round 2: sc in each st (4 sts)
Round 3: inc in next 3 sts, sc (7 sts)
Round 4: [sc, inc] repeat 3 times, sc (10 sts)
Fasten off and leave tail for sewing.

Flukes – Make 2
Round 1: start 4 sc in magic ring.
Or
Ch 2 and 4 sc in second ch from hook.
Round 2: [sc, inc] repeat twice (6 sts)
Round 3: sc in each st (6 sts)
Round 4: inc in each st (12 sts)
Round 5: sc in each st (12 sts)
Fasten off and leave tail for sewing.

Assembly
Sew dorsal fin over hump. Attach beak, flippers and flukes as pictured. The safety eyes used in this
pattern were purchased from 6060 on Etsy.
