7 Protective relays applied to a unit transformer

Protection of unit transformers is very similar to that of network transformers when unit
transformers are at major generating stations. A major difference is that a generator-transformer
overall differential protection is also included as shown in Figure 5. Generator protection is not
shown in this figure because it is out of the scope of this report.
