PROJECTS/ACTIVITIES
 Molecular Dynamics Simulations of n-Alkanes confined within a Cylindrical Capsule MAY’16 - PRESENT
Mentor: Dr. P. P. Wanjari, Assistant Professor, VNIT, Nagpur

Conformations adopted by molecules present in bulk solution are very different from what are observed when they
are confined to a much smaller space. Behavior of these molecules are quite surprising in nanoscale dimensions which
is predominant in many biological processes occurring in human body. The conformational changes and interactions of
n-Alkanes encapsulated in a cylindrical capsule and the free energy changes associated with the process are examined.
 Molecular Dynamics of sugaring out phase separation in water-acetonitrile mixture DEC’15 –FEB’16
Mentor: Dr. P. P. Wanjari, Assistant Professor, VNIT, Nagpur

Sugaring out is a phase separation phenomenon observed in a water-acetonitrile mixture. Interactions and behaviour
of the system were studied using molecular dynamics simulations.

SUMMER INTERNSHIP
 CSIR-INDIAN INSTITUTE OF CHEMICAL TECHNOLOGY, HYDERBAD MAY’15-JULY’15
Project Title: Separation of Valuable Organic Compounds from aqueous and non-aqueous solutions.

Mentor: Dr. S. Sridhar, Senior Principle Scientist, Membrane Separations Laboratory, IICT

Worked on the extraction of stevioside from Stevia Rebaudiana Bertoni (leaves) through a series of processes which
compromise of series of ultra-filtration, micro-filtration and Nano -filtration steps.

Using Aspen Plus as a simulation tool, we worked on setting up a distillation column with a main objective of
selectively separating anisole from a mixture of cresols and phenols.

PAPERS/CONFERENCES
 Data DNA: Crossing Borders Between Biological and Digital Storage. MAR’ 15
Data preservation plays a very crucial role in today’s world. We store and retrieve tremendous amount of
information in our daily lives. Efforts to find a good storage medium are prevalent since ages. The study on possibility
of using DNA as a storage medium was discussed in this review.

COMPUTER PROFICIENCY
 Programming Languages: C, MATLAB, Shell Scripting
 Software Packages: ASPEN PLUS, GROMACS, AMBERTOOLS
 Operating Systems: Windows, Fedora-Linux

ACHIEVEMENTS AND HONOURS

 Bagged First position in Paper Presentation event in CHEMIX’15. (A National Conference on Inter-disciplinary
blend of Chemical Engineering at VNIT Nagpur)
 Ranked in top 1% of JEE-MAINS with an All India Percentile Score of 99.15%

EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

 Training and Placement Secretary of Chemical Engineering Department.
 Attended a five-day workshop on “Process Modelling and Simulation using MATLAB” at Chemical Engineering
Department, VNIT Nagpur.
 Wrote subtitles for two short films directed by my friends at VNIT.

I hereby acknowledge that the information furnished above is correct to the best of my knowledge.
