Product Traceability

Product traceability has become a major concern as Governments and oil companies face
growing threats of fuel theft and tax evasion. Strategies focused on reducing losses are
often ineffective and costly. Greater efficiencies and savings can achieved by implementing
qualitative as well as quantitative product tracing

MEXTAG ® is a synthetic DNA designed to allow the traceability of Crude Oil, Gasoil,
Gasoline, Fuel jet and other Streams

n  Injection of low quantities of Active product tracer during the

refining process allowing a unique DNA marking

n  Low quantities injection needed (ppm)

n  The Tracer is non destructible and non re-injectable leaving no room
for any manipulation or alteration of the product.

n  No environmental impact

n  No impact on the product specifications

n  Total control over production quantities throughout the supply and
distribution chain. Pipeline Leakage control can be analysed via
remote data capture sensors.
