How long did it take between submitting the first online test (10 questions on English grammar, etc.

) and
the invitation to take the following tests (more specific editing tests)? I received their email with my score
on the first test (100% correct answers), but it's been a couple of days and I haven't received any
information about the following tests. Thanks in advance!
First you choose your desired subject(s) of work, then you are sent an editing test to complete. If you
score sufficiently high on the editing test, you are then sent a short sample passage to edit. After your
work on that passage is reviewed, you are either offered a position or not.
I didn't interact with any people, it was all an automated process of going through tests. First you take a
multiple choice editing test. If you pass the first test, you are given a short document to edit. I was given
three business days to edit it, but could request more time if necessary.

Freelance: Publication Support Services Interview

I intially applied for a Freelance position in language editing with Cactus, but upon
completing the initial multiple choice english test and editing test (where you edit two
passages of poorly written manuscripts in your chosen field), my application was passed
along to the Publication Support team. To be on this team you have to have a PhD, and the
services are a bit different. I did a third test for them that focused on journal selection and
manuscript peer-review. Then they sent the offer. The offer is non-negotiable, and you are
paid a pre-determined amount for either the Journal Selection service or the Pre-submission
Peer Review service regardless of the size of the manuscript.

Brief application with 10 question test. If you received a score of at least 7/10 it was followed by larger
application and editing assignment. If satisfied with the assignment, they provided an offer and contract
(which was very low $). The were great about providing timelines and sticking to them though.

I submitted my cv and covering letter, which was followed by a 15 questions test in 40 minutes. I was then
intimated that I passed the test and the senior editors will contact me in 3 days. I am still waiting to hear
from them. This test is based in Mumbai. Earlier I have a test in Canberra where I was given a passage to
edit.

were very helpful and encouraging.

This was not hard for me to complete well. You then submit a standard or premium edit for review before
being accepted for employment.Again, this was not hard to do well.

perhaps 10 questions of sentences that needed to be corrected. When you pass that, you are invited to
begin work, initially on very small assignments. The process seems decent enough at the start and if you
are a decent editor/science person, it should be do-able.
