Daily Drill

Objective: Students will perform string crossings exercises smoothly with proper
technique.

Materials:
* Stands
* Metronome
* Instruments

Situational Factors:
* I am a stranger to these students
* It is quite early in the morning
* I do not know how many students there will be
* Cello is my least comfortable string instrument

Procedure: An introduction will be given so that the students know who I am. A
pre-diagnostic will be conducted to evaluate where the students are on their string
crossing technique. I will facilitate the rehearsal in a call and response manner in
which I demonstrate the exercise and then the students respond and repeat with
feedback given between runs.

Assessment: Students will be informally assessed as a section and possibly

individually. The assessment will be conducted with the following factors in mind
however no score or grade will be awarded. Students will also be asked to self
assess their own playing.

1. Students ability to perform correct string crosses

2. Student ability to maintain proper bow grip/technique while perform string
crossings
3. Students ability to make each note evenly while performing string crossings.
