Let the others learn from you!

Being kind is a way of thinking and living. Being kind means to bring and give joy to the
people around you. Being kind does not mean only to communicate better but also to be
gentler, more generous, and more gracious, in one word, to be more human. Kindness has its
roots deep in us and it is a uniquely human ability.

So when I think how we can create a kinder society, I think how we can regenerate the spirit
of humanity. The most important thing is to learn how to create ourselves kind people. We
have to learn to react with compassion and understanding instead of anger and inflamed ego.
We personally participate in creating this world better. The shape of the society we live in
depends on each thought we think, each word we speak.

Lately we have heard from our parents and grandparents and our teachers how the society has
rapidly changed a lot. Even I can see how things and people around me are changing and
losing their innocence and their kindness. We are growing up and learning to survive in the
world of ambitious people. Being ambitious is not bad if we are talking about someone’s
willingness to achieve their personal dreams. Your ambition can drive you to accomplish
goals However nowadays ambition makes people destructive. I can see some friends of mine
that will do all what is in their power to reach success. They do not mind the harm they may
make. The pay no attention to potential tears.

We have to learn to care not only for ourselves but to make others smile too - help them when
they need our help. Kindness and generosity are something that we can learn and practise.
And if we want to make this world kinder, we first have to be kinder every day. Ask for
nothing in return! The greatest kindness expects nothing. So if you help someone, do it
without any condition – help, give and advise and ask for nothing in return. It may be
difficult. But we still can learn to be kind. Learn kindness from others. Think about the truly
kind people in your life and how they make you feel. Remember how other people's kindness
may make you feel special and happy.

 Do one kind thing for someone every day!

 Make a decision at the beginning of the day what that kind act it will be and
make time to do it during the day!
 Say good morning to your neighbor!
 Help an elderly woman get onto the bus!
 Ask a friend in your class to help him do his homework!
 Build up your small acts of kindness into larger acts like volunteering for those in
need!
 But remember to be kind to everyone, not just people "in need" - the sick, the
poor!
If you're neglecting being kind to all the people and beings around you just because you think
they can live without your understanding, then you are practicing selective kindness. By being
kind only to those we feel are deserving of kindness we are judging.

 Minimize judgment if you really want to be kind!

It's important to think when you act.

 Be kind for everyone you meet!

Before we say or do something that might impact another person negatively we have to ask
ourselves a simple question: "Is this kind?". Even when we feel bad we have to remember that
other people also feel pain, sadness, disappointment, and loss. We have to learn from our
mistakes and our feelings.

 Trust others!

I learned optimism from my parents. They live their lives seeing the good in others and
trusting them because of it. They have taught me it is better to trust and get burnt once in
a while than to live your entire life suspicious of everyone around you.

 Practice generosity!

 Give your life and resources to others as much and as often they deserve!

They need your help. People around us need the example. So if you want to make the
society kinder you have to be kinder every day.

 Let the others learn from you!

Love is best spoken and shown. Words are important. But so are actions. Express your
kindness using both. We never stop learning, growing, and changing. Be open to change
yourself so you can change the world around you.
