 Worked with a pianist, drummer, cello player, choir, bassist, and other guitarists to provide the music for the
contemporary service.
 Gained practical band experience in areas such as ear training, reading sheet music and chord charts, music
theory, arranging songs, sound engineering, guitar and piano technique, managing rehearsal time, and
improvisation.

2011 - Present Mike Elzey’s Guitar Studio Cambridge, MD


Guitar Instructor
 Taught students how to play the electric guitar, steel-string acoustic guitar, nylon-string guitar, bass guitar,
four-string tenor guitar, piano, and banjo.
 Instructed students of various ages and skill levels in areas such as scales, proper guitar technique, ear
training, arpeggios, chords, modes, intervals, guitar maintenance, learning songs, reading music notation,
interpretation, arranging, songwriting, rhythm playing, lead playing, and music history.
 Gained experience working with students of various ages and people with disabilities, such as blindness,
Lyme’s disease, and ADD.

 Gained proficiency playing and teaching a multitude of different styles of music which include modern and
alternative rock, blues, country, bluegrass, folk, traditional, classical, slide blues, bebop, cool jazz, gypsy
jazz, thrash metal, progressive metal, metal-core, world music, pop, hip hop, funk, grunge, 80’s rock,
classic rock, fusion, Latin, reggae, indie, and punk.
