Steps on formatting a computer

Formatting a computer hard drive means that all the data on the specified
hard drive (or partition) will be deleted. Everyone believes that
reformatting should be handled by professionals, but in fact everyone can
reformat his/her own PC if she/he wants to.

Follow a few steps on how to reformat a computer even without the help
of the professionals.

Step 1
Backup all files located at Drive ‘C’ to Drive ‘D’ or another portable drives.

Step 2
Once the file backup is completed, insert the CD or DVD installer and
restart your PC.

Step 3
After inserting the CD or DVD and rebooting the system, a window
bootable menu will appear on the computer screen, select the drive which
you wish to install the new OS (Specifically Drive ‘C’).

Step 4
Select the option to reformat the drive ‘C’ and after reformatting the ‘C’
drive, one more menu will appear on the computer Screen.

Step 5.0
Install all the software (System and application software) needed by the
system.

Step 5.1
Follow some simple instructional steps that appear on the computer
screen and windows will start installing. During the installation
process, the machine will restart several times. This is normal
because windows will attempt copying some files to the drive.

Step 6
And then finally, the system is ready to operate.
