Practical 6: To perform supervised classification

Objectives:

 To separate features in the imagery on the basis of familiarity within the geographical
image and knowledge of actual surface covered types present on the image.
Procedures:
1. Open ENVI. As administrator
2. Open AMAZON_TM data.(click on open folder and import image data)
3. Create NCC and FCC.
4. On toolbox, type “classification workflow”. Double click on classification workflow. Next
Browse the file>OK
5. Click on “use training data” and then next.
6. Rename “class name” to “water” and choose the color to represent the water surface.
7. Select number of small polygons in water body to represent the water surface.
8. Click on “+” sign to add classes.
9. Click on next
10. Finish
11. Save the vector file that is *.shp to the known folder.
