Product Description
A robotic arm mounted on a mobile base and holding a cleaning head with
sensors to detect the edges of a surface. The main base of the device has
four “omniwheels” to allow the device to move in all directions, and the
first tube houses computational electronics as well as the battery. Wires
run between the various joints to connect all of the electronic components
of the device to the hub in the first tube. Motors are used to give the head
a wide range of motion to clean surfaces that are at any angle.
Operation
This device uses sensory data, algorithms, and AI to map out a flat area
for it to clean using spinning cloth-covered cylinders and a cleaning base
that is sprayed onto the surface.
Justification
The purpose of the arm is to allow the device to clean surfaces at different
angles and elevations, giving the product much more usage cases. The
liquid cleaner is used to more effectively clean a hard surface along side
the spinning, replaceable cloth. The automatic functionality of the design
also saves the user the trouble of cleaning these surfaces themselves.
