Golczewo 1.0 – user’s guide 2

1. INTRODUCTION, OR A FEW WORDS FROM
THE AUTHOR:
At the beginning, I would like to thank you and all other users for downloading my
project. Personally, I am really satisfied that you can enjoy the fruit of my long work,
over which I have spent countless hours devoting my free time. Creating a map, a
project for OMSI, especially nice and great, beautiful and amazing, original and
interesting, requires a lot of knowledge on this subject, which is acquired over the years
of searching in the editor. Some of them come easily, from the beginning they can
create beautiful maps that attract the eye, and some begin, let's call it by name, from
disasters that after several months, begin to evolve into really nice projects, sometimes
reaching the real top of the simulator maps. Personally, I was the second type of man,
initially began with these disasters (a few unused, lost maps eaten format or one finite,
tragic project "Lisowo"), going later through a small semi-real map, ending with
thinking at the top of my possibilities, Golczewo, which really looks nice. I am really
happy and proud of myself that I managed to get the last button, more developed and
independent than I had planned initially, the "Golczewo" project. This is the fruit of hard
work, many nerves shed, happy and sad moments, help of many other people, both
mental and physical. I want to thank you here. Everything. And you, dear user, as well
as any other user of this map, as well as people who have helped me in a variety of
ways, be it voluntary donations during livestreams from creating a map, as well as
support and encouragement to complete the project, or also by sending some materials
or simply offering your help. I will go later to these special helpers, thanks to which the
map may and will not be. In conclusion, I really thank you wholeheartedly for deciding
to download my map and try to see at least what it looks like and go on one of the
virtual routes.

Regards for all,

Krystian (KMSzczecin),
author of the “Golczewo” project

2. THE HISTORY OF THE PROJECT:
The history of Golczewo map began in June 2017, when I decided to take a break
from creating my semi-realistic project "Szczecin Prawobrzeże". I put on a fictitious
one map tile that I had made, with one intersection, a loop and a bit of surroundings.
It was a tile with the "North Gallery" loop. Then the first works started, a week later
the first screenshots from the project emerged. The map was rather average at that
time, it was criticized, but it was not accepted badly. I decided to continue the project.
The Koran area was created and the access road to the hospital in Kaputniki. Initially,
the map was to be published with the route from the gallery to the stop "Koranowo
Borsucza" without going through the hospital, but that these areas were ready and it
was enough to change the route, the line extended and the travel time was 15
minutes. Then the first major problem with the map appeared - AI traffic. At the time I
could not do it, so I decided to look for a person who would help me with it. I did not
find anyone. I decided to keep going anyway and I learned to make cubes for
intersections and arrange paths for cars, make timetables and make the map last.
After a small poll, the community decided it was time for the BETA version of the
map. August 14, 2017 Golczewo in version 0.5 was released. The map was
accepted much better than I expected, although it was not perfect, but the ratings
were positive. I took a break and in September I returned to work with full strength,
redirecting almost all my work forces to Golczewo. I decided that the fictitious
Szczecin map should have its own independent painting scheme and its own public
transport system. In this way, after transformation, version 0.6 was released. Work on
version 1.0 has started. New tiles began to appear, new areas. Unfortunately, two
weeks after starting work on the next version, the computer refused to obey. The
work on the map was stopped until January 2018, when I finally dealt with the
hardware problem and returned to work on the map. The first livestreams from the
creation of the map started then. Since then, the work has been going smoothly until
the map was published in July 2019.

3. MAP DESCRIPTION:
Golczewo is a small town established in the interwar period, in the years 1921-
1938, expanded in subsequent years. The city has its own public transport, operated
by MZK Golczewo. The map contains six lines, 5 bus lines (including one night and
express one) and one tram line. The road system is loosely modeled after Szczecin
and other cities, and some areas are a real representation of real places in Poland.

Lines on the map:

15 – Koranowo Osiedlowa  Dworzec PKP
time of travel: about 24 min. one way; tram line
70 – Galeria Północ  Koronna
time of travel: about 35 min. one way; express line
84 – Galeria Północ  Barki
time of travel: about 18 min. one way
94 – Barki  Raptowskiego Szkoła
time of travel: about 31-32 min. one way
96 – Rondo Żołnierzy Wyklętych – Dworzec PKP
time of travel: about 9 min. one way
537 – Koranowo  Raptowskiego Szkoła
time of travel: about 35 min. one way; night line
The project map is located in the "Documentation" folder.

The project consists of 123 tiles, size 300x300m. To pass the entire map from the
"Galeria Północ" loop to the "Raptowskiego Szkoła" loop through all places on the
map, you should devote about an hour to this goal, which indicates the size of the
map. The project includes textures for buses Solaris Urbino 10, 12 and 18, Jelcz
M125M and M185M, MAN Lion's City (by Sobol), MAN NL202 and Mercedes-Benz
O530 and O530G (with the modification by Morphi in the fifth version). On the
map, you will travel through suburban, rural and urban areas, through Golczewo,
Koranowo and Barki. On the map there is the movement of AI cars and buses
driven by the game, which you can see on other lines.

a. list of directions and routes:

The project is also accompanied by bitmaps, thanks to

which you can see the directions painted specially for the
Golczewo project on buses serving them.
NOTE: Only buses with Krüger or Krüger + displays
support bitmaps. To find out if the vehicle has one, please
refer to the instructions or readme file attached to the bus
package.

Golczewo 1.0 – user’s guide 6

4. KNOWN ERRORS:
- AI vehicles can enforce or cross over certain intersections

- passengers "hang" in the air when getting on the trams - this is a

mistake of nature OMSI, nothing on it can be done by the author of any
map. They are also able to head towards the pavement on the left after
getting off.

- cars can sometimes brake almost to zero speed for no reason

- sometimes black "shell" appears on buses - it is an error of OMSI

nature, nothing on it can be done by the author of any map. This means
that OMSI and the computer can not handle reading all textures.

- AI buses can lock on some loops if two cars are on one platform (they
just do not fit)

- at some intersections, cars can react to a player's car or other vehicles

from a long distance, which can cause a temporary stop

- standing intersection at the "Bryczkowskiego" stop”

5. MAP INSTALLATION:
1. Download the package "Solaris Mega Pack" and install it according
to the instructions (you can find it easily by entering "solaris mega
pack omsi 2 download" on the Google search engine.) Version 1.7
is required.
2. Open the „Map” folder.
3. Copy and paste its contents into the folder:
„[…]\Steam\steamapps\common\OMSI 2”
4. Replace all files (the map will not damage files of other maps).
5. Open the "OMSI 2" application and select the option "Load map
without buses". In the list of maps, select "Golczewo 1.0".
6. Click start and you can play!

10. Q&A:
Q: Will work on the map continue?

A: It depends on how it will be picked up.

Q: The displays do not work for me!

A: Choose HOF "Golczewo". You can find the way of its installation
above.

Q: People do not get in!

A: You must set the right direction. If this does not help, along with the
logfile file, write to the appropriate forum thread.

Q: The map does not load in full!

A: Make a scan with the program maptools and its results along with the
file "logfile" insert in the appropriate thread on the forum.

Q: The bus is jumping! What should I do?

A: Decrease the settings. The minimum computer requirements are: 4

core processor, 4 thread clocked at 3GHz, graphics card with 2GB
memory, 8GB of RAM.

Q: Schedules are not showing up!

A: Install the map again. If this does not help, along with the logfile file,
write to the appropriate forum thread.

Q: There is no answer to a question about my problem!

A: In this case, write in the appropriate place on the forum.

11. PROHIBITIONS AND PERMITS:

It is strictly forbidden:
- using the map in virtual companies without my permission;
- use of my files (splines, objects) from the Golczewo and Szczecin
