INFORMATICS HISTORY

The  Informatics Group, listed on the mainboard of the Stock Exchange of Singapore, was
established in 1983, and is a multinational corporation providing services in information technology
and business management.
The Informatics Group is a global network of training and education companies that operates in
over 50 countries spanning Asia, Europe, Africa and South America. Aside from Informatics
Philippines, these networks include  NCC Education, Informatics Singapore, Informatics Global
Campus (Online Learning), Informatics Hong Kong, and Informatics Sri Lanka. It presently offers
programmers from Ordinary and Advanced (O/A) Levels (for international students) to
undergraduate and post-graduate degree completions.

THE NARRATIVE REPORT

INTRODUCTION

Informatics Industry Immersion Program where students undergo an on-the-job training before
graduation to be familiar with actual operations in industry, business, and service sectors, and
enhance their formal education.

The On-The-Job Training (OJT) is one of the requirements for the student eligibility for
graduation and to help develop skills, knowledge, and professionalism towards work. It is a way
of learning work etiquette by hands-on experience. This training prepares the students to
practice their profession, thus, adjusting one’s self to cope up with different standards and
attitudes of their chosen field.

Advantages of OJT is that by training in the actual field, a student will get the chance
to know the environment and the employee who works in it ahead of time. By interacting
closely with co-workers, it would also help student learn and determine how to get the job
done appropriately with insights and feedback given right of the bat.

Dis-advantages of OJT is no chance of getting to familiarize process at one glance since


training would only take 3 months or less. Also, assurance in learning is uncertain if the
teaching and lesson provided would be as effective since the trainer may not be able to provide
reasonable guidance. Trainer can be potent too in giving jargons/technical terms that trainee
will not understand.

Sparta Credit Management Services Inc is an enterprise in Philippines, with the main
office in Pasig. The company operates in the Accounting, Tax Preparation, Bookkeeping, and
Payroll Services sector located at Unit 2306, Jollibee Plaza Condominium, F. Ortigas Jr. Road,
Ortigas Center Pasig City Pasig; National Capital Region; Postal Code: 1605
NARRATIVE OF EXPERIENCES

(Describe/detail your learning experiences in historical order. Explain lessons, new


information, skills, perceptions, insights learned; changes in attitude and values as a result of
the exposure to the real work place. Please, use your journal for this.)

The Training Supervisor accompanied us to the company branch where I will be working until, I
complete the required hours of my OJT. Then talked to the General Manager, tells the
background of the company, its main functions, mission, and visions and what it is like to be
working with SPARTA, then introduced to employees.

I was placed inside the production room with the collection officers, then was given the list of
Task to do the entire months coming.
As Marketing Assistant I’ve learned and Applied:

- to manage time.

- how to use photocopy machine that I did not know how to use before.

- was able to know the work environment even more in a loaning company.

- learned to ask someone’s help whenever It needs be.

- became responsible.

- become more polite to others in the way to greet them.

- become more patience on the task at hand

The entire training period with the activities done by the OJT’s enable us to see our skills
enhanced and develop, really the best training ground as a beginner

New learnings;

- became more familiar with the collecting process

- learned to encode data for cash flow statement

- was also tasked to assist customer by their questions and concerns

- assisted in stapling all the loan application.

- assisted with the computation of outstanding balance

- how to hit a certain quota for collection

My stay for more than a month has become very meaningful to me because it helped me grow
and as a person and made me realize that OJT serves as our training grounds in preparing
ourselves to more challenging life battles in the work place. I am very grateful to Sparta for
accepting me in their company and for training and teaching me a lot of things that will surely
help me in my future career and to all the people who helped me make it through, though I
wasn’t able to finish my OJT hours due to covid 19, I would definitely cherish these added
learnings.

For the incoming OJT student, they must observe good working ethics. Always report to work
on time. Cooperate with other co-employee or worker. Strictly observe Company policies and
regulations. Be responsible enough to any task given to you. Bring lots of patience in work.
Always wear a smile. Be a professional in your work manner and in your appearance. Be
hardworking and should practice self-discipline. Distractions must be minimized in the work
environment.

Accommodating on-the-job trainees can truly be beneficial not only to the trainees but also to
the companies that provide opportunities for this type of learning. There is wisdom in the front
lines. Such training can be an investment that will be valuable to the company later on. This is
also why trainees should take their internship seriously as it can become a powerful tool and
possibly even a source of recommendation when they take that big lift from being students to
career professionals.

On-the-job training can be an effective training strategy, providing an employee with an


abundance of real world skill and knowledge; however, it must be carefully implemented and
facilitated in order to achieve the maximum results.
CONCLUSION

SPARTA is a great training ground for those who wanting to learn how to collect payment on
overdue bills by informing customers of their debt and their various options for repayment,
inputting data cash flows and creating a good brand image for its customer. I would
recommend the company to newbies mainly because of skills and knowledge development.

RECOMMENDATION

Every trainee must be focus to his/her work. They should listen carefully with the instructions
given. If they do not understand something, they should ask for help. Deal the problems with
calmness so that everything will be light.
