This document serves as a guidance for Capstone report writing. The primary purpose of this
report format is to clear any ambiguity a student has in regards to the format and structure of the
report. It clearly outlines the way a report must be presented and any deviation from the given
structure is not advised.

Chapter 1 Introduction

This section starts with a suitable discussion in the area of research covering background, the
significance of the area, trends, etc. A brief introduction to the project area should be followed
which must cover the reason for conducting this study. The student may also highlight the aims
and objectives of the study.

Chapter 2 Literature review

This section presents research in the area selected. The students are encouraged to search for
diverse research articles and critically review them. The students are advised to carefully read
and observe literature review writing format in the selected articles and follow that format and
writing style. The student is expected to review a minimum of Fifteen research article published
in good journals (the number of citations could be a suitable indicator of the good journal). This
chapter should be divided into headings and sub-heading as per the requirements of the selected
area of study.

Chapter 3 Research Methodology

This section will reflect students adopted a research methodology for data collection. Students
are advised to refer to any Business Research Methods book available to fully comprehend the
various research methods for data collection and analysis.

3.1 The case study

This section should introduce the case study organisation, issues and challenges which
organisation faces.
 3.2 Data collection

This section will present data collection process which could include your observations,
access to the data, site visit and secondary data. The basic idea is to present how you have
familiarised yourself with the company and the challenges that they face. This will also
lay the groundwork to a solution which you will propose in the next section. Also, if you
will be analysing the data using any data analysis tool, it should be mentioned here in this
section.

You may structure this Chapter as according to your need for presenting the information.

Chapter 4 Data analysis and Discussion

This chapter will present your analysis emanating from the data collected. You may present the
results from your data analysis, a proposed model or framework, etc. This section would
determine your contribution to the knowledge and efforts you have put into the research. Next,
you must add a good discussion on your findings.

Chapter 4 Conclusion

This section should recap and conclude the work. It should briefly go over the findings and
contribution your report has suggested in improving the operational efficiency. You must not
start or suggest anything new here – remember it is a conclusion.

References

The Reference List should cite all the literature referred to in the text of report using Harvard
Referencing Style. The individual entry should not be split over two pages. If an entire entry
does not fit on one page, place the entire entry on the second.
