1. History of Track and Field

 According to research, track and field began through competition. Individuals started to
run and compete against each other. During the early 1900’s, groups and associations
began to form. With this, international and domestic leagues began to compete in the
different Olympics. This sport continued to grow until it reached its first NCAA
championships in 1921. Track and field started with Ancient Greek and Roman times. As
time passed by, it started to evolve into English culture.

2. Events related to track and field

 The field events that took place on a large field are classifies as jumping and throwing
categories. These are the Shot put, Hammer throw, Discus throw, Javelin throw, Long
jump, Triple jump, Pole vault, and High jump.
