Year 4 WebQuest Overview

Civics and Citizenship

- Participation (the role and place of…community groups within

History

- Continuity and change (recognising and explaining patterns of

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories and cultures

Embedded throughout the WebQuest is a strong link to the histories and


cultures of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Students are led
through the WebQuest by ‘I’m Australian Too’ book character ‘Miro’.
Miro provides a stimulus for students to explore their own identity by
introducing his own cultural, spiritual and social groups, and inviting
Cross students to do the same.
Curriculum
Priorities In the WebQuest, students will explore Aboriginal and Torres Strait
Islander traditions and practices such as bush tucker, hunting equipment
and dreamtime stories. It is anticipated that through exploration and
appreciation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, students will
be inspired to investigate their own identity.
