JOB SHEET : Making Up a Bed

UNIT : Preparing Rooms for Guest

READING : Housekeeping Management A. Samson pgs 83-84

OBJECTIVES : The trainees will make up the bed in preparing the room for guest

LABORATORY WORK:
Materials Required:
Bed pad
3 bed sheets
Woolen blanket
Bed cover
Pillow with pillow slip and case

Tools & Equipment Required:

Bed

Procedure

Apply the bed pad   to protect the mattress from stain

Apply the first linen   to protect the bed pad from stain
place it in a right side up position
use butterfly type in throwing the linen
locate the center fold of the linen
the head part/upper portion of the linen should be down at least 10-
12 inches
miter the corners with 45 degrees angle and tuck in
the sides

Apply the 2nd linen   to give comfort to the guest

place it in a wrong side up position   to the back face of the woolen blanket
use butterfly type in throwing the linen
locate the center fold of the linen
the upper portion of the 2nd linen should be in line from the edge of
the mattress

Apply the woolen blanket     to warm the guest

locate the center fold of the woolen blanket
the head part/upper portion of the woolen blanket should be down at least 10-
12 inches from the edge of the mattress

the tag of he blanket should at the bottom side of the mattress

Apply the 3rd linen  

to give more comfort to the guest & to protect
place it in a right side up position the front face of woolen blanket from stain
use butterfly type in throwing the linen
locate the center fold of the linen
the upper portion of the 3rd linen should be in line from
the edge of the mattress
fold the 3rd linen inside the woolen blanket
fold the 2nd linen outside the woolen blanket
miter the corners with 45 degrees angle and tuck in
the sides

Apply the bed cover   to look presentable

locate the center fold of the bed cover   sanitize the entire bed
lower portion of bed cover should be down at to cover the mattress
fold the upper portion of the bed cover at least 9-12 from the edge of
the mattress

Place the pillow on the bed   to give comfort to the guest

sanitize pillow with a pillow slip
inserte e pillow with the pillowslip in a pillowcase
Zipper should place inside tom protect guest form injury
cover the pillow with the bed cover.

Trainer examination and inspection, using the following criteria;

EVALUATION: 1. All steps and procedures were completed in the correct

sequence.
2. All safety precautions were followed in using the tools and
equipment.
3. All bed linen be free of hair, dirt, stains, tears and holes.
4. Bed sheets must be tucked in tightly to smooth wrinkles.
5. The beds are always checked for items left by the guest.
6. Mitering should be sharp with a 45 degrees angle
