Career Development Plan

This career development plan template can be used as a tool to guide your thought process and map your progress over a chosen period. It is
intended to be used in conjunction with the Career Navigation at UBC website, which provides you with links to resources, tools and websites
within UBC that may be helpful in planning your career.

Completion of this plan will follow a 4 step process. Each step will address specific career related questions:

1. What skills do you already possess? (Where are you now?)


2. What do you want for your career? (Where do you want to go?)
3. How might you get there? (What steps do you need to take to get there?)
4. Who can help? (What resources might I use?)

1. Where are you now?

This process starts with taking a good look at where you are currently at. What are your skills, talents and interests? What are your values – do
you like to lead, work with people or alone with data or text? Do you like working face to face with people or prefer independent work? Do you
like to work inside or outside? Do you like working to deadlines? Which teams do you like working on, quiet or loud, small or large?

Answering the questions below will assist you in determining your starting point. There are several tools & resources that can assist you with

Where am I now in regards to my career? I am now finish with my school and this it allows that this to doors of university
for the start of my career. Practically i am researching for know in that consist
the career and whit this it would in the start of my career.
What is my view of current situation?

What have been my experiences to date? My experiencies to date have been the power have competed with the group of
dance of school in where we won , other when i had the chance of work with the
persons old, is something fantastic because are persons that in much cases
the grandfathers are alone because the families not will visit to yours. Other
experience and is the that more i liked is when i go to mission every december
because share with the families that are in the rural zone and have not in some
cases the oportunity of study or work.
What do I enjoy most? I like the most is dance because is the perfect form for to express emotions
and feelings and desmostrate that dance it is a means to happiness. Also i like
help people who need more.
What skills come to me naturally?

What do I think my strengths/assets are? (Skills, I think my good fortalezasson as I achievement that every defect is a strength to
knowledge, talents, interests)? get it better and turn it into a virtue more . My knowledge is broad and that
throughout my life I have had the opportunity to study and go learning more and
more.
What are some things people ask me to help People sometimes ask me if I can help you record something when it is in the
with? doctor as it is to type on a computer, also when you need something happens
or to be cared for anything.
What do I do well?
I do well my work, my work, dance and also do well when also help try to make
things right.

What appeals to me?


You can say I attract things difficult because they are one reason to work harder
and do what you can to achieve more.

What are my values? (work/life) Be work together and help those in need. Be leading a team and achieving hits
proposal. I work well on the math portion then it would be fundamental in a
group.
Do I like to lead, work with people as a team or I would say that I am a person who can work both alone and as a team, but
work alone (with data or text)? when working alone , I probably perform better since the work alone requires
more concentration and more work. I think that both data and texts are
important and necessary for a job because everything is based from this

Do I like working face to face with customers or The work -to-face with clients or in an office, it is somewhat complicated . But if I
back office work? touched choose I think it would be better in an office , you'd know what I should
do and I would do , I would facilitate more .

How do I feel when I think about my ideal job How I think of my work I feel excited and scared because the work is somehow
(excited, motivated, fear)? something different from what until now I'm starting to do. While emotion is
better as an experience more serious .

goals? I doubt if I'll make it or not and the fear of what they 'll face

I feel the vocation to help people and make them happy as possible. I have no

When deciding on your career development goals it is imperative that you set yourself up for success. Using the SMART goal setting process is a
good way to achieve this. SMART

Action-oriented (so you can DO something about it!)
