ACTIVITY TO REPLACE THE MIDTERM

Holiday in Istanbul
Two months ago, when I was in the military, my brother got married. I couldn't attend the
wedding. After they got married, they settled in Istanbul. A week after I came from the
military, I went to Istanbul both for visiting my brother and for vacation. I arrived from
Antalya to Istanbul in two hours by plane. While on the plane, the Istanbul view over the sky
looked beautiful. Actually, I was afraid of traveling by plane, but it was a very good journey.
When I arrived at the airport, I went to my brother's house by the taxi. I saw that a big
accident happened while was on the road. As for the neighborhood where the house was, I
went down in front of a shop where souvenirs were sold. The house was on the top floor of a
3-storey apartment next to a large shopping center. There was a small market under the
apartment. It was the first time that I met my aunt. My aunt and my brother welcomed me
very well. We chatted a lot during my stay at home. As I chatted, I got to know my aunt well.
Just as I depend my brother, I also depend my aunt. The two had been a very best match. I
am proud of my brother as I see them happy. The next day, my brother and I left home to
visit Istanbul without my aunt. Since I was interested in artworks, we went to Pera Museum
first. We went on foot as the distance between the museum and the house was close. Since
the museum was not opened yet, we waited until 10 am in the park behind the museum.
When we entered the museum, the guide in the museum told a lot about the pictures. He
explained the artworks in English besides Turkish because there were foreign visitors in the
museum. After leaving the museum with my brother, we went to the cafe opposite the
museum for something to eat. My brother said that the dishes here is great. The dishes
looked really delicious. After having dinner, before we went to Topkapı Palace then to see
the Hagia Sophia Museum. It was evening when we left the Hagia Sophia Museum. We took
a taxi to go home. I had a nice time through my brother. It would be boring if I traveled
alone. The next day, after saying goodbye to my brother and aunt, I went to the airport to go
back to Antalya. I had bought the return ticket in advance.
