Dear Sir.
WIND DRIVEN VENTILA TORS
We take pleasure in introducing to you a revolutionary ENERGY CONSERVATION product Turbo
Ventilator .Turbo Ventilators, which operate on wind, are used world wide for ventilation becauseof
their low capital cost, adaptability and overall reliability for Industrial and Commercial premises.
Work place efficiency is improved when ventilation matches the interior conditions. Proper
ventilation improves efficiency of the machines, minimizes worker lethargy, loss of concentration
and consequent loss of Productivity. Even in colder weather, effective air circulation improves the
workplace environment.
We would like to highlight the Salient features of the Product as under:
,( Ventilates from the Top most level of the roof, where condensedair gets accumulated during
both SUMMER AND WINTER.
,( Vents operate on wind energy, irrespective of the direction of wind flow. A gentle breezeat 3
Km/h is enough to operate the ventilator .
,( Tested for resistanceto Leakage during rain and to withstand wind velocity in excessof 160
Km/h.
,( No electricity \ Power backup is required and hence expensive wiring and control switches are
eliminated.
A boon for explosive atmosphere \ chemical plants-
,( Can be easily installed on any type of roof like Asbestos, Aluminum, GI, Coated Steel, Plastic,
even if they are old or weak-
. ,( Environment friendly Product, emits No Noise.
,( Absolutely no maintenance is needed. Fitted with Polymer Derlin Dupont bearings lubricated for
life.
,( Central Government's present policy allows 100% Depreciation on investment in the fIrst year,
as these ventilators operate on Wind Energy.
We are enclosing herewith our Leaflet for you kind perusal. It will be our pleasure to call on you in
person for further discussions, to provide you more details \ clarification.
Thanking and looking forward for the pleasure ofhearing from you,
Yours faithfully,
for SRK INTERNATIONAL

DETERMINATION OF
RESISTANCE TO LEAKAGE DURING RAIN TO AS2428.1 AND
ABILITY TO OPERATE UNDER WIND LOADING TO AS2428.2
OF AMPELAIR TURBO VENTILATORS
CSIRO Report No DTA348 and Job No. NDDZTA2.19.1
1 INTRODUCTION
The following information outlines details about the client :;:lid project
Sponsor: Ampelite Fibreglass
~~ Cnr Kitchen & Zenith Roads
DANDENONG VIC 3175
Test Date; 3rd August 1995
Background: CSIRO was engaged by Ampelite Fibreglass to carry out
dynamic wind load and water penetration testing on the
several "Ampelair Turbo Ventilators" t.:JP..S2428.1 & 2
Methods or testing smoke/heat release ve:1tilators -
Determination of resistance to leakagb\ during rain.
CSIRO provided all equipment and p~rsonnel \0 perform
the tests.
2. TEST SPECIMEN
~
~ The specimen referred to as "Ampelair Turbo Ventilators" comprises an
assembly of various metal components, riveted- or mechanically fastened to
form a turbine rt)ad mounted to freely rotat~ on a bearing assembly as
described in ap~.endix A. The turbine head is mounted on a braced shaft
above a segmented tube of a nominal diameter which is rIveted to a
rectangu!ar flasning.
Three samples of different sizes were tested being
j ) Ampelair Turbo Ventilator M300 'A'
2) Ampelair Turbo Ventilator AA300 '(:3'
3) Ampelair Turbo Ventilator M300 'C'
4) B!SON Turbo Ventilator 360
Details of the samples are found in Appendix A of this r~~or1
CSIRO Reoort No DTA348
Pace 2 or 10
3. TEST CONDITIONS
The samples were installed on a model roof in the test area and subjected to
a simulated wind velocity which can be varied up to 55 m/s. Water is
introduced into the wind stream at a rate of 2.5 Litres per second. The
sample was subjected to the maximum wind velocity of 55 m/s {198 k.p.h.).
The test apparatus consists of a dynamic wind mad"\ine having a propeller of
4160mm diameter. The source of the air stream is produced at a point
situated 11f.1 m upstream from the leading edge or the specimen.
Water is introduced into the wind stream by a spray nozzles system situated
8 m from the wind source.
The ventilator was installed on the model roof which was set at 5° pitch.
~
All four ventilators were tested to conditions as described in AS2428.1 & 2 as
follows:
(a} The wind machine was started and the air stream speed was
adjusted to 16 mls which was maintained for five (5) minutes.
(b) Water was introduced into the air stream at a rate of 2.5 Us.
(c) The wind speed was increased to 55 m/s and maintained for two
(2) minutes.

3. RESULTS
1 The Ampelair Turbo Ventilators each successfully withstood the
dynamic wind speeds ranging from 16 mrJ5 (57.6 kph) to the
maximum speed generated by the test apparatus of 55 mps
(198 kph).
2. Durirlg the test there was no abnormal vibration or mechanical
damage to the units and eact'1 ventilator operated rlormally at
the conclusion of tIle prograrnme.
3. There was no water entry at any time during the le::,l rarlgirlg
from 16 mps (576 kph) to 55 rrlps (198kph) dynamic wind
speeds and sirnulaled rairl of 2.5 lilres per second Irllhe wind
strearn.
4. CONCLUSIONS
1 he Verlts described as:
1 )
Arnpelair Turbo Ventilator 300 ' A'
2) Ampelair Turbo Ventilator 300 '8'
3) J\mpelair Turbo Ventilator 300 'C'
4) BISON Turbo Ventilator 360
were presented for testing on the 3rd August 1995
Eacll ventilator successfully resisted water entry in a wind speed or 55 rrl/s
therefore comrlyillg with test reqlJirements to AS2428.1 -methods of testing
smoke/heat release ventilators -determination of resistance to leakage
during rain.
~
:t' Each ventilator successfully continued to operate during and after being
subjected to a wirld speed of SSm/s therefore complying with test
requirements to ;\52428.2 ~ Methods of Testing Smoke/Heat Release
Venitllators -Operation Under Wind Load.
