Domovinski rat

i zločini nad Hrvatima

The book’s raison d’être is summed up by the authors: “The sheer number of artificially created con-

u Bosni i Hercegovini,
troversies imposed, for strictly political purposes, on these facts and the consequent influence the
perpetuation of these controversies has had on the popular perception of both the Croatian War of
Independence and the War in Bosnia and Herzegovina, warrant a somewhat deeper analysis, bol-
stered by additional sources regarding both the facts and the events that underlie them. The goal

is to reach valid and comprehensive conclusions grounded in conscientious scholarship.” (...) Davor
Marijan explains the origins and causes of the Muslim-Croat conflict and traces, in detail, its progress
without glossing over the origins, causes and progress of the other armed conflicts in Bosnia and
Herzegovina that erupted in the wake of the JNA’s aggression against Bosnia and Herzegovina (HVO/
ARBIH vs JNA/VRS and HVO vs ARBiH and ARBIH vs ARBIH (Bihać). (...)

The Croatian War of Independence
and Crimes Committed Against Croats
stanovnici trebaju živjeti jedni uz druge.
in Bosnia and Herzegovina 1991 - 1995
Having said that, it is both my belief and opinion that the leaders of each constituent nation in BiH
have to genuinely confront the crimes that members of their respective armed forces committed
during the war. There is no doubt in my mind that unless the leaders of the three constituent nations
express regret for the horrific acts done in the name of their respective nations and religions through
acts of contrition and offers of atonement, there will never be a lasting peace in BiH. Let us not forget
that the Serbs, the Croats and the Bosniaks have no choice but to live side by side in BIH.
