For assigning temperature gradient loads, please follow the
procedure given below.
From Main Menu select Load > Temp./Prestress > Beam Section Temp.
For the Sample Positive Temperature Differences shown
below, following input is required for a section of depth 3000mm: Change Parameters: 1 Change Parameters: Enter Enter Enter H1 as 0 mm H1 as 150 mm H1 as 2850 mm H2 as 150 mm H2 as 400 mm H2 as 3000 mm T1 as 17.8 [C] T1 as 4 [C] T1 as 0 [C] T2 as 4 [C] T2 as 0 [C] T2 as 2.1 [C] Click on Add Click on Add Click on Add 2
4. Select Relevant Load case Sample Positive
Temperature Differences Input 5. Select relevant section type. ( For “Value type- h1 PSC sections” select General option ) 3 h2 6. Input Initial temperature, Elasticity and thermal coefficient over here or h3 can be taken as defined in the material properties h1 = 0.15m 4 for individual elements. h2 = 0.25m h3 = 0.15m
Select reference point depending on the input
heights from top or bottom of section 7. For value type or general sections, average section width between height H1 & H2 should be entered manually, for PSC/Composite type sections width will be taken automatically as per 5 section definition 8. After entering the above data, Select the relevant elements and click “Apply”
