In January this group of performers showcased their individual culture in a Fashion Show! The show was so successful
that they came back to perform for the entire school during the Black History Month showcase in February.

NICKYS WORLD!
Fun ideas so you don’t get bored at home!
My sister and I have been super bored for the past couple of
weeks and we have been baking, making TikTok’s, and just
doing homework. The main thing we have been doing is baking
banana bread with our aunt. Malia’s favorite part was licking
the spoon after making the batter. We are going to tell you
the recipe of how to make banana bread. So what you have
to do is preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease
whatever you are putting your banana bread in. In a large
bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt. In a separate
bowl, cream together butter and brown sugar. Bake in a pre-
heated oven for 60 to 65 minutes, until a toothpick inserted
into the center off the loaf comes out clean.
Mylah; which is me. My favorite part was making jello grapes.
You will need jello grapes and toothpicks. Put the toothpicks in
the grapes, make sure you keep the grapes in hot water, then
put the Jell-O in separate bowls. Sprinkle the grapes with the
jello and when you're done put them in the fridge for half an
hour. When they're done take them out the fridge and eat
them and if you have leftovers make jello. My other favorite
part is Spirit Week because you get to share your outfits and
take pictures!!!

Book Review of: THE TWITS
by David Doherty
There was a couple that hated each other,
and they were always pulling extreme pranks
on each other. They were called The Twits.
The husband has a long dirty beard and the
wife is very ugly because she keeps having
ugly thoughts. Once Mr. Twit tied Mrs. Twit to
a bunch of balloons attempting to make her
float away. The Twits eat bird pie and Mr. Twit
trained his monkeys by abusing them. What Mr.
Twit didn’t know was that the monkeys were
smart. So they pranked the Twits by turning
everything upside down and making the Twits
also turn upside down. When they turned up-
side down the monkeys glues them to the
floor which made them shrink until they were
non-existent.
Ms. Pfaffinger welcomed her daughter, Mikaela Kay Pfaffinger! Mikaela was born on April 16,
2020. She is excited to be home spending time with her mom and dad and big, puppy, brother
Bandit. She sleeps a lot, has begun enjoying walks outside when it is warm outside, and having
books read to her. She hopes everyone is staying safe and healthy.
Ms. Cinar also welcomed her first daughter Rosalina. Baby Rosalina was born in the early
morning hours of April 17th weighing 8lb 8oz & 20inches long! Baby and I are doing well. Rosa-
lina currently has her days and nights mixed up and she sleeps all day and is up all night.
Hopefully.. she will get it right sooner than later! She also has a major bow collection and
loves talking pictures! Her big brothers absolutely adore her and are already super protec-
tive of her. It's the cutest thing! I can't wait for you guys to meet her when things aren't so
crazy. Xo Love, Ms. Cinar
Ms. Dixon has a shout out
for Annabelle, Camila, Ian
and Sarah. These four
scholars haven't missed a
beat when it comes to
growing their brains at
home. They have completed
every assignment and while
their parents are there to
help and support them,
they are taking their own
initiative and getting their
work done independently. To My LIU Loves,
Keep up the great work! I miss you SO much! It feels like we haven't seen each
other for a very long time, but I smile every day because
of you. When I wake up, I think of you. I want you to re-
member how proud I am of you and all of the hard work
you've put in this year. Even though we can't be togeth-
er, I am still here for you each and every day. You all
