Universal Design for Learning (UDL): Describe how you could address Universal Design for Learning principles
to extend and support the learning experiences for all students. TIP: Seesaw has many embedded tools to
support all learners.
If there were a student with an auditory issue, I could type out a script that details instructions for how to
complete the tasks. Since there are video demonstrations, they will still be able to visually see what to do. If
a student has a visual impairment, the video demonstrations wouldn’t do them much good; however, they
will be able to hear the recorded verbal instructions associated with the demonstrations. Hopefully they have
an aid that allows them to maintain some physical activity without putting their self in any kind of safety
concern.
Lesson idea implementation: As you address the standards, what will students do? How will the assignment
be introduced? How long will it take to complete? How will student learning be assessed? (*note, you should
create an iRubric). How will the final product be used to inform/differentiate learning? How will you extend
the student learning to a higher learning level? How will you conclude the lesson? How will you provide
feedback to students about their work? MINIMUM 2 paragraph overview.
For this assignment, students will create 3 separate videos that show a low, middle, and high level of a body-
weight exercise. The whole idea of this assignment is that we have been stuck at home for the past few
months and we have to come up with creative ways to get our bodies moving and active. So, attached to the
Seesaw activity, there will be video demonstrations showing them what they will be expected to do. Once
the have practiced, they will record themselves performing in the activity for the required amount of
repetitions and will post it to Seesaw.

Depending on how this assignment goes, this may be something that happens on a regular basis. There are
countless exercises and activities that students can perform at home without any equipment. If a student
cannot perform some of the higher-level exercises, they can be modified by myself. Students will strive to
push themselves so that they complete all repetitions and elevate their heart rates (maybe I could provide
heart rate monitors so that they could easily track their and shoot for their target heart rate zones).

Video and Online Learning
Importance of technology: Why is using a video creation tool important for online learning in HPE? Could the
project be completed without this technology? What would be lost without using it? What other types of
technology, if any, are going to be used in the learning experience?
Especially with the corona pandemic, students can easily use technology integration for online learning in
HPE. The project could be completed by the students in that they can perform the exercises but it would only
be partial if they can’t video themselves as ‘proof.’ Having a heart rate monitor to show their elevated heart
rates would also be way to show that the students performed the activities but, again, that wouldn’t be
possible without technology.
Inspiration (optional): If you used existing video files or gathered research for your project, include the URL(s)
so we can visit them. Explain any concepts you “borrowed” from others.
One of my peer teacher-candidates did a presentation on the website called “FitnessBlender” that I loosely
based my videos off of. You can see the video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?

Internet Safety and Student Privacy: Briefly discuss some possible issues surrounding Internet safety and
student privacy that could arise while implementing this learning experience and explain how you would (1)
minimize risks to students/yourself; (2) alleviate any fears by parents/administrators, and (3) follow common
Internet Safety/Acceptable Use Policies. *Note – Seesaw earns gold stars for its privacy policies.
Luckily, Seesaw has exceptional privacy policies but student safety should still be on the forefront of planning
lessons (especially online). Since students are recording themselves and uploading it to an Internet website,
there is always some risk of that information getting leaked. In order to lower this risk, students will be
instructed to only post where I tell them to. That way, they don’t post personal information out there that
someone could use to find out where they live or something like that. I would not have students use a
website that didn’t have privacy policies as strict as Seesaw, though.
Reflective Practice: After designing this lesson idea, how do you feel the activities you created could impact
student learning? You may have designed this idea as an introductory activity to a unit of study. With that in
mind, what could be done to further extend the lesson? Are there other technology tools that could further
enhance this project?
Students are learning how to participate in some exercises that they may have never tried before, and hopefully that will
open their eyes to trying different things that stray from their ‘norm.’ This activity could be beginner, intermediate, or
advanced in terms of what I am expecting the students to do physically. This lesson could be extended further by having
more exercises to record, having different activities that center on different muscle groups, etc. Students would be
encouraged to use a music streaming service such as Apple Music or Spotify so that they can have some auditory
motivation while they participate .
