Greetings, parents & guardians!!

My name is Jonathan Cleek and I have been placed as a student-teacher at Milton High School to
satisfy my student-teaching field experience. I currently attend Kennesaw State University
where I am studying to become a health and physical education teacher!

My goal this semester is to provide effective instruction to your students in an effort to help them
gain the necessary skills needed to enhance overall health and wellness. Moreover, we will be
focused primarily on learning these skills: accessing valid and reliable information, analyzing
influences, interpersonal communication, decision making, goal setting, self-management, and
advocacy. These fundamental health skills will be interwoven into a curriculum that is based in
what is called functional health knowledge (i.e., alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs, nutrition, first
aid/CPR, etc.). The ultimate goal of this health class is to equip your students with a basic
knowledge and understanding of how to apply these health skills into their everyday lives.
