Extension of ‘Yoga Shivir’ at Picturesque IDT Lawns

A six day Yoga shivir has been orgainised in the picturesque IDT lawns during 19 th April to 24th April
2014 in line with a similar programme held here previous year as well. The event found immense
popularity with the Saadhaks and has so delightfully been extended for another three days.

In view of the experience, it is collectively submitted that –

 Contribution of Yoga is now accepted globally as an effective means of stress management

amongst top executives. It is known to invigorate the corporate workforce both physically
and mentally and perhaps spiritually too, towards achieving higher goals in professional and
personal life. During the brief period of the Shivir, we have come to realise the potential
benefits of the technique as also the importance of continuing the practicing on a regular
basis.
 The sylvan and peaceful outdoor environs at the IDT lawns during the morning hours are
most conducive for a heartening experience in yoga practice.
 Considering the rigour of the process it is desirable to make steady progress under
professional guidance such as has been so kindly extended by Sh. Chauhan during the Shivir.
 To avoid discontinuance of the routine developed in the recent days it is felt helpful to
practice it collectively in the current Shivir format.
 At present, the Shivir has been conceived at an introductory level only. With perfection in
basic routine it may be possible to take up special sessions / talks on specific professional
health care issues for the benefit of the employees. Scope of the programme can be
reasonably enhanced over time to include fuller aspects of Ashtang yoga and related
padyatis.
 The lawns are generally unoccupied during the morning hours (6:00 to 8:00 am). Also no
additional cost is involved during the extended periods.

In view of the above, HOI-IDT is collectively requested to further extend the Shivir, for ONGC
employees and their family members (as already registered / to be registered) during the summer
months (upto 30th June ‘14) at the current venue and timings
