Save the world’s environment

Did you know that every piece of plastic ever produced is still in existence today and that
we’ve used more plastic in the past 10 years than the last 50 combined? Every year enough
plastic is thrown away to circle the earth four times. If we would continue this year in year
out, it can have a huge impact on the world’s environment. This is caused by our smallest
actions.

There are a lot of things to say about the world’s environmental issues, but today I am going
to let you notice what the real effects of our actions are. So let’s talk about the plastic in the
environment.

Throwing a plastic bottle in nature or on the streets doesn’t seem to do much, but in fact, it
causes a natural disaster. How come? I will tell you.

The plastic bottle is dragged along by the wind. Because of the wind, the bottle ends up in for
example the sea. The animals that live in the sea eat the plastic or get stuck in it. When they
get stuck in the plastic, they get wounded and die. When animals eat the plastic it enters their
stomach.

You might think; What’s the matter, it’s just a few animals? Well, it certainly matters,
because animals that don’t eat the plastic die too. This is because they eat other animals. The
plastic gets in their stomach too. Eventually, lots of animals die. And of course, this has
effects too, not only on nature but also for us.

We must be aware of this kind of issues. Because we are the ones that can change this. The
solution for lots of natural issues may look hard, but sometimes they are easy. We could for
example not throw our plastic bottles in nature or on the streets. Instead, throw it in the
garbage bin or even better, re-use a plastic bottle.

What else can YOU do to save the environment? Well if you're not taking action by yourself,
you could donate some money to a charity like green peace, because we have enough money.
A company like green peace protects and saves the environment.

The environment is very important, we don’t want to lose it. That’s why we need to be very
careful with our actions, our smallest actions can have huge impacts on the world’s biggest
issues. If we don’t change our behaviour, the effects will be huge in the future.
