This book review is based upon the novel Summer Days under the story titled From this day
written by Nora Roberts an American author of more than 225 romance novels. She writes as J.D

The book Summer Days: From this day is the fourth edition and is a HMB Tradesize – C Format
Series. It was published by Harlequin Enterprises (Australia) Pty, Limited in 2014 and has a total
of 352 pages in length.

The main characters in the novel are B.J Clark the manager of the lakeside inn and Taylor
Reynolds the new owner of hotel Tycoon.

This novel is a romantic story of how B.J Clark and Taylor fell in love with each other were
Clark had no intention of allowing Taylor to modernize her beloved inn and to destroy its
uniqueness. Taylor lived a fast-paced, high-tech and sophisticated life but now his fascination
with this innocent enchantress made him long to live in B.J’s arms from this day until forever.

The language used in this book is easy to read and comprehend and can be recommended to
young adults from ages 18 years and above simply because of the theme used.

The setting of the novel is very imaginative as it gives good descriptions of scenes and scenarios
that will enable one to have a clear picture of the story.

The storyline is very captivating because of the use of dialogues by the characters as well as the
appealing figures of speeches that describe certain scenes of the story. It captures a young
woman by the name B.J Clark who was in her fifth year of managing a charming and old
fashioned Inn that was located beside a beautiful lakeside. The most exciting regiment in the
book is the part that B.J Clark fights for the good reputation that the inn has after for the first
time being introduced to the new owner by the name of Taylor Reynolds. Their first meeting
inside the inn was funny because Taylor had a wrong impression of Clark assuming that she
wasn’t the inn’s manager and Clark being annoyed at him for thinking that way. Clark got a
surprise after learning that Taylor was staying at the inn for two weeks to do his inspection.
Being 24 years of age Clark found the 32 year old owner very appealing and pleasing but she
was determined to keep the inn despite Taylor’s charm and maintain business relations. That
night on the first day of being acquainted with each other, Clark was in the dining area alone
closing up the bar whilst thinking about Taylor and what had all happened that day when all of a
sudden she got a shock because Taylor gave her a surprise from behind. She dropped the bowl of
nuts in her hand onto the floor and fell into the arms of Taylor. This was the third time in that
day she was in that position reminded Taylor. Before she could protest and back away, Taylor
put his arm around her waist, brought her close to him and kissed her. Clark was furious with
Taylor at that point but as the story continues on she begins to learn more about him and sooner
or later finds out that since the time they met, everything Taylor did during those two weeks was
to win the heart of Clark. Taylor being attracted to the sense of style of the inn decided to let it be
unchanged from its intention of becoming a resort. He made an extension of the inn by building
an office since the original one had limited space and also wanted a designed house for a piece of
property about ten miles outside of the town overlooking the lake. The most important climax of
the novel is when Taylor asked Clark to marry her and that he was going to move his base from
New York to the inn after they were married.
