Task:- Assume that you have been appointed as a Strategic Project Management Consultant to
Apple reporting to Tim Cook. You are required to prepare a report evaluating Apple’s current
position and advising him on the future directions for the company. Please use the following
questions/tasks for your case analysis.
1. Carry out an industry analysis for Apple. (25 Marks)
2. How Design Thinking and Innovation have helped in Apple’s business success? (25 Marks)
3. What is the role of the CEO in innovation process at Apple? (25 Marks)
4. What are your recommendations to Tim Cook on strategic directions of Apple for the future? (25
Marks)

Content of Report (match with the content given in the course outline as well) :-
You are required to prepare a brief report, as the outcome of the WAC. Report content should include
followings,
• Introduction- Explaining the business situation and outlining the main issues in the case (Max. 1
page.)
• Analysis – The analysis should be carried out using theoretical frameworks. (e.g. -to find out
answers to the above questions or your own style of analysis for outline issues in the case) (Max. 4
Pages).
• Conclusions and Recommendations- based upon the above analysis conclusions can be arrived
about the company. Recommendations for implementing can be made based upon your conclusions.
(Max 3 pages)

Instructions on Grading (Max. of 20% of overall course grading) Grading will be done
considering following dimensions.
 Innovation in presentation
 Depth of analysis
 Clarity of expression and neatness of the language
 Quality of the recommendations made
