News from Mid Cheshire Musical Theatre Com pany

Evita
Tickets are now on sale and rehearsals are well underway for our next big
production—Evita which is being staged at the Memorial Court 25th to 28th
September. MCMTC are one of the first musical theatre companies in the
area to stage this popular Andrew Lloyd Webber musical.
We have quite a few new members joining us for this production and I hope
they, along with the existing members enjoy this show.
We have a fabulous line up of principal roles with Andrew Lee as Che,
Collette Williams as Eva Peron (understudy Melanie Rayner), Michael
Shneck as Peron, Stuart Dutton as Magaldi and Laura Merriman as the
Mistress.
As usual, we are looking for more men. Evita is a fabulous show with lots of
chorus work, especially for men—don’t be put off by thinking it is a show all
about Eva, there are many people supporting her—especially men.
Our next chorus rehearsal is Wednesday 22nd May at the school. It would
be great to see some new or older men come along and join us.
Wardrobe Mistress: We are currently looking a volunteer to act as Ward-
robe mistress for Evita. If you would like to help out please let us know—your help would be appreciated.

Mid Cheshire Youth Theatre

Our fabulous Youth Section, Mid Cheshire Youth Theatre have
announced their next show, which will be staged at the Grange Theatre 24th to
26th October. How better to prepare for Halloween but to watch the antics of
the Addams family.
Auditions have recently been held and the show is cast. It promises to be a
fantastic production. Having been involved with the youth for many years, I
know what talent there is and I am sure they will shine in this
hilarious production.
The new leader, Jenna Finnigan is directing and choreographing the show,
whilst resident Musical Director, Ian Sherwood will be ensuring he gets the best
out of all their voices.
Tickets are now on sale at

Some Enchanted Evening
On 13th April, members of both adult and youth section joined together to perform a concert in memory of
our former president, Mr David Parkes.
Playing to nearly a full house, the evening was enjoyed by all
watching it and those taking part. It was a collection of songs
performed by the adults which held special memories of David,
whilst the youth section performed several routines from a
selection of shows of their choice. David was a great supporter
of the youth section and it was an honour for all those involved
to be part of the evening.
Elva, his wife, received many letters following the performance
from those attending to say how much they had enjoyed the
evening.
A sincere thank you to everyone involved with the concert,
making it a happy
night with wonderful
memories. Also a
special thank you to
the band: Tony Taig,
Ian Sherwood,
Michael J Scott,
Caitlin Sherwood
and Scott Baker
(David’s Grandson).
