The Flowserve Edward Equiwedge Gate Valve is large bore and created with body
guided, split wedges that offer superior leak tightness and performance. These and other
features allow this gate valve to work proficiently and consistently. These features
include:

 Reduced torque, thread wear and eliminated galling because the material used has
a low coefficient of friction
 Ready access to the packing chamber
 Optimum seal ability and life due to the use of a flexible graphite packing
material with anti-extrusion rings
 Long, reliable service with the pre-loaded, pressure energized design
 Reduced friction for longer valve life due to the integral hard faced guide system
components
 Additional support for side loads imposed by the handwheel or the power actuator
with the tapered roller bearings found on larger valves. Smaller size valves have
needle roller bearings
 ACME threads
 Effective, tight seal established by pulling the bonnet and gasket together at the
pressure seal
 Easier field maintenance of the upper structure without disturbing the pressure
containing parts. Valves in smaller sizes utilize a wishbone yoke design. Class
600 valves utilize a bolted pressure seal bonnet
 Hard faced to assure long-term seal ability
 Each wedge half is able to flex and adjust independently to compensate for body
distortions caused by thermal changes or pipe bending stresses (See pg. 25)
 Prevention of leakage because the seat ring is welded into the valve body

Available in classes 600 to 3600 from sizes 2-1/2 to 36 inches.
