★★Scenario Selection★★
The choice of scenario simply determines the arrangement of factions and
characters.
The game is pretty much the same regardless of which scenario you pick.
The first scenario is the default one.

★★Character Selection★★
You can create your own character, or choose any existing character in the scenario
to play as.
Countries are named after the character that rules them. If you choose a non-ruler
character, you'll be given the option to make yourself ruler before the game
starts.

★★Other Starting Options★★

The special factions all provide extra content, except for the vigilantes.
If you turn them all on, make them weak and/or spawn late in the game. All of them
at strength 3 in the middle might seem like a default option, but it would be a
serious challenge.
Be careful not to overextend, because they can spawn inside your territory.

★★Initial Actions - Base Phase★★

The goal is to conquer the world or ally everyone. After the first few turns where
peace is enforced, you'll be at war with everyone - war is the default relationship
between countries.
It's not very difficult to win, either by fighting or by maxing out relations with
people and getting anything you want through diplomacy.
During each base turn you get some Action Points depending on how many officers you
have. You can use them to work for money and build relationships.
You can only meet your own officers or characters from allied nations.
You can use meetings as a way of training skills, by choosing the skill training
actions.
Your own officers get more powerful and less likely to rebel when you build
relationships with them.
Building relationships with foreign characters makes it possible to seduce them
into joining you.
Increasing your number of officers and their loyalty towards you is the main goal
of the base phase.
More officers means more action points and a bigger pool of talent for leading
military units.
When meeting people, it's slow to get a relationship going, but it becomes
exponentially faster as you grow closer.
Getting a character to accept an action depends a lot on their personality traits
and their level of favor/dependence/submission.
Choosing which person takes the lead(click the box by their name) has an effect on
changes in mood, relationship, and assertiveness.

-Getting someone drunk is a very useful way of breaking barriers.

-If you find yourself running out of strength or stamina, you can appoint a Head
Chef. But don't tie up anyone with combat value.

★★Initial Actions - Strategy Phase★★

For the first few turns, diplomacy and military action is disabled.
You can use the "Scout" option to hire more officers, and the first one hired will
be unusually cheap.
There's an expensive skill training option, which you should always buy on turns
when there's a special discount advertised on it.
You can explore the territory for random events that usually lead to money, skills,
or sex experience.
You can choose a policy, for now set it to "Economy" so that your cities grow their
incomes faster.
Your number of soldiers will naturally grow over time, up to a cap based on your
economy. The closer you are to the cap, the slower natural recruitment becomes.
On turn 6, just before the military ban ends, convert all your personal money into
treasury money and hire as many soldiers as possible.

When the military ban ends, put your soldiers and best officers into military units
and send them to conquer weak neighbors or independent cities.
Units can be created without cost, and destroyed without cost if they were created
on the current turn.
Otherwise, removing an officer or destroying their unit disables them for a turn.
Destroying units returns all soldiers, as long as the unit is in friendly
uncontested territory.
Movement is simple - your armies can instantly travel through any friendly
territory. You can also instantly increase or decrease soldier numbers anywhere in
friendly territory (As long as there's not an enemy army present).
Any movement into or out of enemy territory, or into or out of a relay point, takes
an entire turn to happen.

While you conquer, see if you can improve relations and get ceasefires or alliances
with anyone you're not fighting.
Diplomatic agreements are temporary and expire quickly, so it costs nothing to sign
them with anybody who's willing.

When conquering, be extremely careful about the length of your borders - every
extra enemy you share a border with is a serious problem.
If you expand rapidly and are in trouble, just let some territory go instead of
trying to defend everything at once.
Relay points are extremely good to have on your borders, because you'll be able to
see enemy armies a turn before they arrive, and you can use that time to set up
exactly the city defense you'll need to beat them.
If you grow too fast and become too strong, coalitions will be organized against
you. But it's easy to defend strong chokepoints, and enemy armies can only attack
one at a time.

When you win battles against enemies, you can sometimes capture their officers.
You can then put them under house arrest or in the dungeon, and try to persuade or
torture them into joining you.

The end goal is to conquer the world - afterwards you get a NewGame+ option, where
you can start over in a new scenario.
(You can keep anything you want - but keeping everything will make the next game
too easy.)
If the country you rule is destroyed, and you aren't executed afterwards, then you
can still join another country and play as an officer.
As an officer you can revolt against or coup whoever rules you, or you can just
loyally serve them until they conquer the word and win the game for you.

-Be careful about pregnancy, pregnant or childrearing officers can have significant
penalties in combat.

★★Relationships★★
Characters you seduce can go down two relationship paths - Love or Slavery.
To get on the Love route, increase their favorability and dependence more than you
increase submission, until you get the [Love] talent. Dating them, letting them
lead, and doing gentle actions accomplishes this. This is later upgraded to
[TrueLove]. You can also [Confess Love] while dating, but you can only confess your
love to one character.

To start the Slave route, increase someone's submission faster than their love and
dependence, and they'll gain the [Submitted] trait, and eventually [Slave]. This
naturally tends to happen when torturing prisoners.
(Note: if someone's willpower is 0 at the end of prisoner training, they can get
the [Mindbroken] and [Spiritbroken] traits, which turn them into broken husks until
they recover. Mindbroken is cured with rest, but Spiritbroken is hard to fix.)
