Two types of flame detectors INFRARED (IR) AND ULTRAVIOLET (UV) &
sometimes a combination of both
Flame detectors activate on the principle of wave length, in other words,
FLICKERING FREQ. OF FLAME
> 25Hz 4 – near 25Hz
FRONT WINDOW :- Allows only flame within a particular range, hence
positioning and angle very important

FILTER : For IR it filters 4 – 25Hz flickering freq

For UV, it filters > 25Hz Freq

PHOTO ELECT CELL : Like any other Photo Elect Cell, it detects only light and
converts it to an electricl signal
AMP : Amplifies the signal and passes it on to the alarm triggering circuit.

SOME FLAME DETECTORS HAVE COMBINED IR/UV ELEMENTS, MAKING

THEM VERY SENSITIVE.
