Student Name:   Jane De La Cruz

Date:   3/21/2020

Artifact Description: Classroom bird-view, using drawing tools

What you learned:   This assignment was a little more challenging

than the bridge. It took longer to complete. However, it was more
exciting because I could envision what my real classroom may look
like one day. The door was the most challenging to me, as I could not
get that arch the way I wanted. I learned to use multiple layers like
where the door goes and aligning everything perfectly is more
challenging than I expected. I found myself moving my desks around,
as I could not decide what I wanted my classroom to look like. At first
I had a standard classroom set up, but I remembered how boring that
was. I then used as inspiration the classroom I went to visit last
semester for my Field Observation. I hope to have a classroom as big
as the one I designed, so I can have space for everything I envision.

National Educational Technology Standards for Teachers (NETS)•T

Addressed:

Standard 6: Students communicate clearly and express themselves

creatively for a variety of purposes using the platforms, tools, styles,
formats and digital media appropriate to their goals.

Application of Skills Learned for the Future: I loved being able to

design my own classroom. I hope to use this skill in the future when I
become a teacher to know how much furniture and extra stuff I can
bring in. I hope to one day teach Kindergarten or 1st grade. I personally
love the carpet area, because you can gather all the little ones in one
space close to you and they are more likely to pay attention rather
than having them seating on their desks. The easiest part was the
windows and the student’s desks. The hardest was putting the
classroom together and deciding where everything goes. This
assignment could also be applied with a bedroom or an office.
