Portfolio Artifact Description:  Dream Home 2D - Using drawing tools

What you learned:  This project was so time consuming. The hardest
part was trying to figure out the layout without copying any of the
samples I saw, while still keeping the essence of what my dream
house would be. After trying to design the house from my head directly
to the computer and failing miserably, I used my parent’s house as
inspiration. I love their house, which is a two story. So I tried to put
together parts of their home and made it into a one story. My version
looks nothing like their house, but it was a good base. It took a lot of
attention to detail and imagination. I actually pictured myself in the
house walking around and that’s how I knew it was perfect.

Application of Skills Learned for the Future:  This assignment really

makes you use your imagination. You have to come up with different
tricks such as layering, to come out with what you want. This is a
great tool to use in a classroom since it would encourage students to
think about how to problem solve and use their imagination.
