Executive Summary

Executive Summary:
Sweetly Scented Soaps strives to provide only the best body care products for
their customers by using only all-natural ingredients. All of our products are handmade
and include soap bars, bath bombs, bath salts, and candles. Our ideal customers are young
women who understand the necessity of using only safe ingredients on their skin and who
are willing to pay more for a better product. Our products will be available for sale both
at our storefront and on our website, so our products are accessible to a wide range of
people. The staff of Sweetly Scented Soaps has two main branches - those who make the
products and those who sell the products. We would also have managers above both of
these branches of our company to ensure that our company retains order. In the end, our
company would require $70,617.83 to start which covers all expenses that could ever
come up, including a necessary contingency fund.

Section IV.
Company Description

Mission Statement:
Our company's mission is to provide only the most luxurious products to our
customers, that fulfill all of their needs and wants so they are satisfied with what we
deliver. We strive to make this company about the people instead of the money acquired
through the selling of our products- if our customers are happy so are we. If they would
like a product that we do not have, we will put in all the effort required to try and supply
it to them as well.
Our Products:
We offer a wide variety of skin and body care products made from all-natural
ingredients that are overall better for the skin. All of our products are handmade and
made with only the highest-quality ingredients. Some of our products are even made with
essential oils to provide natural benefits to our customers. Our customers can trust that
they are receiving safe products because we use no untested chemicals in our products as
well.

Goals and Objectives:

Our goal is to provide people with well-made products that they know will be
beneficial to their skin. We want everyone that buys products from us to to feel like they
are getting their money's worths so that they will continue to shop at our store and share
our company with others.
Keys to Success:
In order for our company to succeed we will need high employee drive, we will
need to utilize available technology, and maintain consistency within our market.

Location and Facilities:

My building is located on 1961 S Main Street, Keller Texas. It is a 3,000 square
feet building that is located in a strip of three other buildings. Both buildings that are
adjacent to my building are currently unowned and there is an Ultimate Sport Nutrition at
the end of the strip. Upon entering my building, there is a large open shopping area and a
counter for customers to check out at. In the back right corner there is my office and a
bathroom. Next to the office is a hallway that leads to a back door. On the left of that we
then have a storage closet to keep extra products and ingredients, as well as cleaning
supplies. Finally, we have our kitchen in the back left corner where we can make all of
our products. The kitchen will also have a door leading straight to the back of the
building.

Emergency Procedures:
Fire: In case of a fire all employees and customers should head to the nearest,
unobscured exit to the building. All exits are marked with signs. After evacuating the
building we will call the Keller Fire Department which is located 3.6 miles away from
our location.
Earthquake: In case of an earthquake all employees and customers should make
their way slowly and carefully to the exits of the building while avoiding potential
hazards. If they are unable to make it out of the building they should stay in the middle of
the room and avoid furniture and shelving that could fall.
Flood: In case of a flood all employees and customers will head to the nearest exit
and evacuate the building. After that they will be asked to head to higher ground if they
are unable to drive home.
Intruder: If there is an intruder in the building or in a nearby location, employees
and customers should go to the kitchen, storage closet, office, or the bathroom. All of
these rooms will have sturdy locks that will keep people safe until help can arrive.

Maintenance Plan:
In order to keep our building in prime condition we will hire people to come in weekly
and do a deep clean of the interior. We will also have a storage closest that will contain
cleaning supplies so we can clean up any messes that occur during the week and so that
we can tidy up the area where we make products each day. The cleaning during the week
will be shared by the employees- they will have certain days when they are assigned to
complete certain “chores”. We will also have our products stored very neatly and keep
excess products in the storage closet.
Layout of Building:

Emergency Evacuation Plan:

Description of Ownership and Profit Sharing:
My company is going to be an LLC so that I can have control over my business,
but still have managers to keep things in order. The profits I make will then be divided
between myself and the managers.
Section V.
Industry Analysis

Supply and Distribution:

We will have our employees constantly making new products so we have a
readily available supply of the most popular products. Our customers will be able to
access our products both on our website (that also includes an website) and our storefront
that is located in Keller, TX.
Technology:
We will use technology to promote our business on different social media sites
such as Twitter and Instagram. We will also have a company website where people can
browse our products and order things online, so they do not have to come to our store to
shop.

Economic Influences:
Some economic influences include taxes on products as well as taxing on
products sold online. For these products sold online there are also shipping costs that
raise the overall cost a company makes. Additionally, the stock market can affect the
financial part of my business as different stocks rise and fall and I'm indirectly affected
by other companies losing or gaining money.

Regulatory Issues:
Regulatory issues in the health and beauty industry include substances that are
restricted by the FDA and thus cannot be in products. These substances include chemicals
such as lead acetate which is thought to be harmful. It is also recommended that
businesses participate in the VFDA (Voluntary FDA) if they are involved in the
cosmetics industry.

Barriers to Entry:
Barriers to entry into the health and beauty industry obviously include high
startup costs. Another important barrier to consider would be customer loyalty as many
customers already have established what business they prefer to buy from. Another
barrier that could affect my business would be the threat of substitution where other
companies provide similar products that would threaten to replace my own. I would also
have to deal with he bargaining power of suppliers which could add more money to the
amount I have to spend to startup.

Section VI.
Market Analysis
Market Size and Estimated Growth:
My business is a part of the health and beauty industry in Texas. As of 2014, there
were an estimated 55,000 people specializing in skin care which is expected to grow 12%
by 2024.

Market Trends:
The main trend in the health and beauty industry is towards creating products
from all-natural ingredients that are environmentally friendly. We also see a trend in
health and beauty companies creating more products for men, as well as more products
being created for the aging population in our society.

products — as either inventory checkers or product makers. Our cashier will charge the
people for their products, customer assistance will ensure the customers get products that
they are satisfied with and they will also restock shelves when needed. On the other side
of our business we will have people who take inventory as well as people who actually

up the shop and prepare for our customers. Our in store workers will restock any shelves
before we open as well, and will then be in charge of restocking throughout the day
whenever it is necessary. When the product makers arrive they will be in charge of
producing new items throughout the day to refill whatever is running low.
Saturday: Employees will arrive five minutes to open shop. We will have in store
workers restock the shelves like normal and everyone else will complete the tasks they
have been assigned. Then at the end of the day employees will close up the store and lock
