Fundamentals of Engineering Safety

1. What are the 4 fundamentals of engineering safety?

 Organisation
o The general features of needed by any organization whose work
affects safety.
The degree of preparation and the proper order of assessing the
problem on how to resolve that particular problem.
Process
o Methods of working that affect safety.

Finding and executing the most efficient and effective method/way of

resolving a particular issue/problem.
Risk Assessment
o Identifying hazards and assessing risk.
Proper analyzation and forming conjectures on what is the real
problem and where it came from.
Risk Control
o Controlling and showing it is acceptable.

Prediction of the possible things that can happen while performing

the troubleshooting to avoid the issue/problem get worse by the time.

2. What are the problems that the computer engineers encounter?

In the field of hardwares, the most common problem that computer engineer's
face is the environmental/natural factors(dust, moisture, heat, rust)that
deteriorate a hardware device making the system slow or even broke it, thus
making it unsafe and dangerous. Another problem involving hardware
engineering is the fast phase changing and updating of hardware technology
which makes it harder for engineers to cope up with it and the safety protocols
dedicated for it, thus forcing the engineers to gain new knowledge in order to
deliver the new safety standards. In the Philippines another problem that
computer hardware engineers encounter is the lack safety equipment and fund
for safety, this is because of the expensive price of such facilities which resulted
to improper improvisation of equipment (eg. using of fire extinguisheras fire
retardant in hardware circuits, which might cause more damage).
In the other hand softwares problem involves fatal bugs that may harm the whole
system, in some case fils from the system are lost, so as a safety procedures back
up memory is used by engineer and large companies.Viruses and data stealing
and hacking are also a very large problem of computer software engineers, large
companies and goverment units hire data security companies to avoid theif and
harmful program from entering the system.
