Assignment No. 2

Instructions regarding Assignment; Please read carefully all the instructions regarding
assignment and in case of any confusion or ambiguity do ask from your instructor through
CR/GR via email or whatsapp. Avoid making phone calls unless necessary.
1. The assignment is comprised of five questions and you have to attempt all the questions
sufficiently.
2. Assignment will be submitted hand written; computerized or typed assignment will not
be accepted.
3. Two color pencils will be used to complete the assignment; Blue and Black. All the
material you implied from the text book/material provided to you by me would be in Blue
color pen/ballpoint in answers to the assignment questions. All the inputs from your side,
whether from other sources (internet or other books) or your own opinion/analysis, will
be in black color.
4. There must be sufficient materials in answer to the questions. Evaluation will be made on
two things; quality of the material as well as quantity of the information. So maximum
details and information should be used in completion of assignment. Short answers or
very few contents would not be acceptable.
5. Answer questions in essay form. Do not use answers in bullets or headlines form.
6. Assignment should be neat and well presented on assignment papers. Papers torn from
registers/copies/notebooks/diaries will not be used for completion of assignment.
7. After completing the assignment, Take the pictures in good resolution and brightness or
scan it from scanner or even application of smartphone (camscanner) then upload it on
portal in single file of pdf. You have to submit the hard copy as well after 31st May, 2020
when the university will be open.
8. Late submission will not be accepted. You would not be able to upload assignment on
portal after due date. No excuse will be accepted for late submission or otherwise. Submit
it before due date at any cost.
9. “Self-learning” and “group-learning” (while maintaining social distance and being safe)
would be highly appreciated at this time of situation. Use internet, books, youtube etc. for
maximum learning.
10. In case of any guidance you are requested to send your queries to your CR/GR, who will
coordinate with me after compiling up all the relevant queries.

Read Domino's case study given in the book and answer the following question (Pg # 52 - 53)

Q 1. What kinds of systems are described in this case? Identify and describe the business processes each
supports. Describe the inputs, processes, and outputs of these systems. 5 Marks
Q 2. How effective are these systems in giving Domino’s a competitive edge? Explain your answer.

Q 3. Visit Domino’s Web site and examine the order placement and Pizza Tracker features. Then answer
the following questions: 10 marks
1. What steps does Pizza Tracker display for the user? How does the Pizza Tracker improve the customer
experience?

2. Would the Pizza Tracker service influence you to order pizza from Domino’s instead of a competing
chain? Why or why not?

3. What improvements would you make to the order placement feature?

Case 2

Read Proctor and Gamble case study given in the book and answer the following question (Pg # 75
- 77)

1. What is Procter & Gamble’s business strategy? What is the relationship of collaboration and innovation
to that business strategy? 10 marks
2. How is P&G using collaboration systems to execute its business model and business strategy? List and
describe the collaboration systems and technologies it is using and the benefits of each. 10 marks
3. Compare P&G’s old and new processes for writing up and distributing the results of a research
experiment. 10 marks
