Wedding tradition
Marriage is one of the most important events in the life of two loving people
and it doesn’t matter where the ceremony takes place or what nationality a bride
and a groom are.
Every country has its own traditions and customs of wedding. Some of them
can seem very extraordinary or even crazy.
Traditionally in Britain a bride is escorted to the altar by her father, and then
he entrusts his daughter to his son-in-law. The clergyman joins them in matrimony
after which the newlyweds are pelted with the confetti. It is an old custom which
symbolizes the wish of good luck. On the day of wedding the bride should wear
something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue.
What are the peculiar traditions of wedding in India? The father of the bride
meets the groom as the guest of honour. The bride gives her second part a
traditional beverage of sour milk, honey and butter. Groom’s brother or another
male relative pelts the newlyweds with petals of flowers to drive away evil spirits.
The Hindu wear a wedding ring on the thumb.
There are special wedding customs in Asian countries too. In Vietnam the
newlyweds usually have two wedding ceremonies: the first is organized by
groom’s parents and the second – by bride’s parents. During the Chinese wedding
the bride and groom drink wine and honey from the bowls, bound together with red
tape, because red colour symbolizes love and happiness.
Tour Italy-Spain-France
Italy
Even at school, children can easily find Italy on the map, because the
country is located on peninsula that looks like an old-school boot. It is a very
beautiful country with ancient culture, beautiful architecture, amazing history and
delicious food.
Where did Ancient Romans go for fun? They went to the Colosseum in
Rome. They watched fights in this big and beautiful stadium. The fights were with
gladiators and wild animals like lions, crocodiles, rhinos, and even elephants.
Later, two earthquakes destroyed some of the Colosseum. Then people took
stones from the Colosseum to build many other buildings in Rome. So the building
that we can see today gives only an idea of how beautiful it was in the past.
Thousands of tourists visit the Colosseum every year. There are music concerts
here, too.
Gardaland is perhaps the most popular in Italy, spread out on the eastern
shore of Lake Garda near the town of Castelnuovo del Garda. The park was opened
in 1975 - up to 3.5 million visitors! In 2008, there was an open aquarium in the
neighborhood. Today in Gardaland there are six main attractions and about 30
smaller ones.
Restaurant Piazza Duomo opened in May 2005 in the historic center of the
capital city of Alba. The restaurant is very popular. The address of this institution
is known to every gourmet in the city.
The restaurant is famous for the richness and variety of dishes on offer. The
menu includes fish, seafood, mushrooms and much more. Crippa and his
colleagues skillfully turn the most ordinary dishes into real works of art that only
talented chefs can do.
But it attracts customers not only the culinary art of the chef, but also a
special pleasant atmosphere created by modern designers. Across the ceiling of the
Piazza Duomo is a fresco by Neapolitan artist Francesco Clemente. Inspired by the
landscape of the Lange region, the painter depicted giant grape leaves.
Spain
This country is famous for its warm and sunny weather during the whole
year, for the beautiful sandy beaches of the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic
Ocean, and for the popular resorts with palm trees and yachts by the sea. Madrid,
the capital, Barcelona and Ibiza – are the most popular tourist destinations in
Spain.
It is a country of rich history and culture, where you can find some
incredible monuments of architecture, sculptures, palaces, castles and museums.
There are 47 World Heritage sites in Spain. Everyone who visits Spain should try
their national dishes: flavourful rice cooked with seafood, called paella; chilled
vegetable soup Gazpacho and spicy and sweet sausage Chorizo.
Teide National ParkYou. simply must not miss this wonderful National
Park. The other-worldly landscapes here will leave you speechless. The pure, clean
air of Spain's highest peak will refresh your lungs as you wander amidst solid
volcanic magma feeling almost insignificant in this impressive UNESCO World
Heritage Site. This is, without doubt, the icon of Tenerife. Teide National Park was
declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2007 under the Natural Asset
category. It also boasts a European Diploma awarded by the European Council,
and it is part of the Natura 2000 Network Sites. The Park is well deserving of such
acknowledgements. Firstly, it boasts the broadest sample of supra-Mediterranean
vegetation on Earth. Secondly, it covers one of the world's most stunning volcanic
landscapes – and certainly the most outstanding in the Canary Islands.
France
If you want to see the Eiffel Tower and the Champs-Elysees,
you should go to France. There are many countries in the world, but
non like this one. It is not only the largest country in Europe, but
also one of the most interesting places in the world.
Among the most famous attractions of Paris are Arch of Triumph, Notre-
Dame de Paris and of course its main symbol – the Eiffel Tower. It was named
after Gustav Eiffel, whose company designed and built the tower in 1889. This
tower is made of iron. The tower stands on four legs and has a sharp peak on the
top. The tower is the tallest construction in Paris and the most-visited monument in
the world where you have to pay money to visit it. Millions of people go to the top
of the Tower to get an amazing view of Paris.
The Eiffel Tower is 324 meters tall, about the same height as an 81-storey
building. The tower has three levels for visitors, with restaurants on the first and
second floor. The third level is a platform, it’s 276 meters above the ground. If you
walk around Paris in the evening you can enjoy a wonderful view of the lighted
Eiffel Tower. And at some particular moment you can see the lights blinking.

The Louvre houses some of the most famous pieces of existing art. For
example, Leonardo da Vinci’s painting “Mona Lisa”. Nobody knows exactly, who
is the woman on the painting. That’s why there are always debates and disputes
around this piece.
The symbol of the Louvre is the Inverted Pyramid which appeared in late
20th century. The Louvre museum collection contains the works of such renowned
artists as Michelangelo, Raphael, Vermeer, Le Brun, Falconet, Rembrandt and
many others.
Breakfast in Paris is simple and sweet. Cheese and sausage are completely
absent on the morning table, and nothing can be said about the bacon typical of a
traditional English breakfast. The French can go to work without eating at all, but
only after drinking a cup of coffee. Many on the way run into bakeries or small
cafes to buy a fresh crispy croissant. By the way, in Paris bakeries it usually costs
less than in a cafe.
Parisian cafes are the basis of the city’s life in the capital, with an amazing
variety: from very small ones on the corner, designed for two or three tables, to
expensive establishments on the main streets, which need to be booked in advance.
But more often than not, a cafe is a fairly democratic place where you can eat both
hearty and simply have a bite to eat: sandwiches, salads, pastries, soups, desserts,
traditional dishes, as well as world cuisines are usually served here.
Тhis tour is better to go in late spring. The weather will be warm and sunny,
but it’s better to take an umbrella just in case. Be sure to bring comfortable shoes
and clothes with you. You must bring medicine, passports, visas, money (the
currency in Europe is the euro), a camera and a good mood.
