For making the closed gate fold we are using plates 1 and 3 as
well as the special gate fold plate in position 4 (see picture 1).
Position 1 shows you the use of a sheet deflector.

Adjustment of fold rollers:

The fold rollers 1, 2 and 3 are adjusted for, isingle, 'r sheet thick-
ness, roller # 4 for double sheet thickness, roller # 5 as well as
the knive shafts are adjusted for fourfold up to eightfold sheet
thickness (if roll-folds are to be processed you require more than
the foui:ifoldsheet thickness - see picture 2).
lmpo rtant:
Fold roller # 4 must be adjusted with lower pressure in order to
prevent a box fold when the sheets are leaving the 2nd plate.

Buchkle plates:

Set the 1st buckle plate to approximately 1la of the sheet length,
buckle # g to approximately 1lZ of sheet length and the special
gate fold plate # + to approximately 1l+ ot the sheet length.
Setting of the folds:

Firstly, employ and adjust buckle plates # 1 and 3 only; you

should consider that the two inner sheet flaps do not get closer
than 6 mm (see picture 3)- lf necessary, this distance may be
increased - the bigger the distance, the easier the setting of
the gate fold plate).
Attention:
When processing these 2 folds make sure that no box fold will
be developed out of the first fold- Should, however, occur such
a box fold, you may
a) decrease the pressure at fold roller # 4
b) decrease the clear width of buckle plate
You probably have to slightly roll-up the sheet edges (see picture 4)
prior loading them onto the feeder.

tnsert the folding plate into machine and connect plug into
electrical socket (see picture 6). Take off photocell F 1
from special gate fold plate and fasten it onto sheet stop of
buckle plate # 3 (2nd upPer plate)- Ptace photocell F 1
approximately 60 - 70 mm in front of sheet stop and adjust
sheet stop of buckle plate to the corresponding size of sheet-
lf a job with a small distance of the gate fold flaps (sheet
edges) to eachother has to be processed, then you should place
the photocell F 2 approximately 15 - 2A mm in front of the
sheet stop-

Note: the greater the distance of the sheet flaps to eachother,

the more you must move the photocell F 2 forwards-
