Welcome to the course

Adeseye Lowal-Solarin: Welcome to collaborative working in a remote team. In today's digital world,
going to a office to work every day isn't always the best option or even necessary. Remote working is
becoming more and more popular. And portable devices mean that the work can be done from
almost anywhere, at home, in a cafe or coffee shop, on the train, or even outside in the local park.

And working remotely doesn't have to mean working alone. Anyone can work from anywhere these
days. You just need the tools, skills, and strategies to make it work for you. I'm Adeseye Lowal-
Solarin. And I'll be your host and guide to the world of collaborative remote working.

As an entrepreneur, being able to communicate effectively, work collaboratively, and present my

ideas with impacts of skills I use on a daily basis. This course is an introduction to the world of remote
working. You'll find out about the realities of remote working, hearing from people who work remotely
and who will tell you about their experiences.

You'll also find out what skills and techniques are needed for effective remote working and have the
opportunity to practice with some tools and technologies you might use in the future. At the end of the
course, you will be offered some next steps on how you can continue your remote working journey.
You also hear throughout the course from our lead educator Sophie Pendroe.

Sophie is a designer and educator, he has a long history working with digital media and has worked
remotely for many years. You'll hear Sophie as she guide you through various exercises and
activities in the course. Let's get started.
