Deja Vu? the very first time? These strange experiences are called 'deja vu'. The
term deja vu is a french word that means ‘already seen’.
There is a very logical and scientific explanation to these ‘unnatural’
experiences.
It is actually an abnormality of our memory!
When we dream, we usually forget what the dream was all about but
it is nonetheless stored in our brains. During deja vu, it is these
dreams that mysteriously surface up without us realizing that we had
dreamt it sometime back!
When an event occurs, our brain makes two images of the same
event simultaneously. When this happens, we experience it as if we
have already been there in the event once before hence giving rise
to the strange phenomenon.

The Monkey

The animals, on the death of the lion,

During his life, prince of the country,
Resolved to elect a king to try on
The regal crown, and chose a monkey.

Tried on the regal crown, or let it fall,
Because their heads were all too big,
Or too small, too horned, or too thick,
The monkey slipped through it;
And with it cut up many a trick,
Which they all thought refined,
And chose him with one mind.
Only the fox regretted the election,
And swore to reign in his defection.
He came and made his compliment;
"Sire," said he, "I know a treasure meant
For your high majesty. I will show
The spot where it lies hid."
The monkey went at Reynard's bid,
And was caught in a trap.
The fox exclaimed,
"How do you think to govern us,
When, after all, with all your fuss,
You cannot well, do what you may,
And Keep yourself out of harm's way."
The animals agreed,
That royal power suits very few indeed.

Ancient Roman Architecture

“Yay, I'm going to Rome! Will you tell me what's special

about Roman buildings, Sir Dig-a-Lot ? That way, I'll
know which places to visit,” asked Rohan.

“The Romans were the first to use concrete and cement as a building mate-
rial, instead of marble. Concrete helped them make arches. The Romans also
used baked brick to make stronger, cheaper buildings. Then, they decorated
the bricks,” said Sir Dig-a-Lot.

7
“Where did Romans go when they wanted to meet in groups ?” asked Rohan.

“They went to basilicas, Rohan. A basilica looks like a church from inside.”
answered Sir Dig-a-Lot.

“In 65 AD, the 5th Roman king, Nero, built a palace for himself called
the Golden House, but...” Sir Dig-a-Lot paused. “What happened to it ?”
asked Rohan

8
“Just five years later, King Vespasian tore it down and built the Colosseum
there. It is a public amphitheater,” replied Sir Dig-a-Lot.

“I can't wait to see the Colosseum! Thanks, Sir Dig-a-Lot,” said Rohan.
“Have fun, Rohan! See you soon.” replied Sir Dig-a-Lot.
