If you are in Pasto you have to take a bus for you go to Tuquerres.

When you have

arrived to tuquerres you will go to “parque bolivar”.
In that momento you will be in “calle de los carros” or “Terminal”. If you go walking
you will have to walk three and a half square, then you will have to turn to your
right, in “la 16” Street. But if you go on car you have to go straight one and half
square, when you arrive you have to turn left on tuquerres-Imues avenue and drive
one square. After you have to turn left on the carrera 24 street and you go straight
to arrive to Parq Bolivar.
From there you have to travel by car to the shelter, the journey are 6 kilometers,
after you have to walk about 3 or 4 hours
The "laguna verde" is a lake that is located in Tuquerres-Nariño at 4000 masl in the
volcano azufral.
It is at the top of the volcano in the mountainous sector known as “nudo de los
pastos” to approximately 12Km of the Túquerres town.
This lake has that color because it has hight Concentrations of sulfur by volcanic
activity.
It is a natural jewel, it´s called: esmeralda lake.
This ecosystem is cold moorland, for that reason this place is so cold and wet. So if
you will go to “la laguna verde” you should wear Winter clothes…gloves, scarf,
sweater, ear muffs, hat, jacket and boots. And is important that you bring enough
wáter and snaks.
This walkabout is so intense but the experience is wonderful.
