INTRODUCTION - SCOPE
= It is recognized that the effectveness of nondestructive testing (NOT)
applications depends upon the capabilities ofthe personnel who are responsible

‘This written practice is established to provide and maintain a uniform method for
qualtication and certfication of TTAsia Co., Ltd NDT personnel in accordance
with SNT-TC-1A, 2008 Edition Recommended Practice.
‘This writen practice has been prepared to establish rules for the qualification
and certification of NDT personnel, whose specific jobs require appropriate
knowledge of the technical principles underlying the nondestructive tests they
perform, witness, monitor or evaluate,

RESPONSIBILITIES
‘This written practice is writen and maintained by Industry Department, reviewed
approved by NDT Level III and issued for Industry Departments and concemed

4.2. Certiying Authority: The person or persons properly designated in the
certifications procedure to sign certification on behalf of the employer.

47. NOT Level ll: An NOT Level Ill shall have the skils and knowledge to establish
‘techniques: to interpret codes, standards, and specification; designate the
particular technique to be use; and verily the adequacy of procedures. The NOT
Level Ill shall be capable of conducting oF directing the training and examining of
NDT personnel in the methods for which the NDT Level Il i qualified.
48, Trainee: A person who is not yet certified to any level shall be considered a
trainee, Trainee shall work with a certified person, under the direction of an NOT
Level I! or NOT Level Ill and shall not independently conduct any tests or write a
report of test results
4.9. Welten Practice: A weitten practice developed by the employer that detals the
requirements for qualification and certification oftheir employees.
4.10. Experience: work activites accomplished in a specific NOT method under the
lection of qualified supervision including the performance of the NDT method and
‘lated activities but not including time spent in organized training programs.
4.11, Clesed Book Examination: an examination administered without access to
‘reference material except for materials supplied with or inthe examination,
4.12, Nondestructive Testing: a process thal involves the inspection, testing, or
‘evaluation of materials, components and assemblies for materials’ discontinuities,
properties and machine probleme without further impairing or destroying the parts
serviceability. Throughout this document the term NDI apples equally to the NDT
Inspection methods used for material inspection, flaw detection
4.13. Qualification: demonstrated skil, demonstrated knowledge, documented
training, and documented experience required for personnel to properly perform the
duties of a specific job.

‘Qualification and certification of NDT personnel in accordance with this written
practice is applicable to each ofthe following methods:
= Radiographic Testing (RT)
= Utresonie Testing (UT)
= Magnetic Particle Testing (MT)
= Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT)
6. LEVELS OF QUALIFICATION
NDT personnel of TTAsia Co,Ltd are qualified and certified by following three
basic Levels of in each testing method.
6:1 NDT Level
ANDT Level | individual shall be quaitied
+ To properly perform the specific calibration,
+ Tocany the specific tests,
4+ To record and clarify the results in terms of witen criteria,
+ Torepor the results
= The NDT Level | shal receive the necessary instruction and supervision
from a higher certified individual
6.2.NDT Level I:
NDT Level I individual shal be qualified
+ Toset up and calibrate equipment
4+ To interpret and evaluate results with respect to applicable codes,
standards and specifications
+ To understand the scope and limitations of the method for which
‘he individual is qualified
+ To. prepare wiitten instructions and exercise assigned
responsibiities for on-theob training and guidance of trainees
‘and NDT Level personnel
+ Establish and organize records of examination and calibration
6.3. NOT Level Il:
= ANDT Level Il incividual shall be capable of

fabrication and product technology.
> Twenty (20) questions that are similar to published Level I

Method Examination (for each method)
> Thity (20) questions relating to fundamentals and principles
‘that are similar to published ASNT Level I questions for each
method, and
Fifteen (18) questions relating to application and establishment
of techniques and procedures that are similar to the published
[ASNT Level Il questions for each method, and
Twenty (20) questions ‘relating to capabilty for interpreting
codes, standard and specifications relating to the method.
+ Specific Examination: for each method contains 20 questions relating
to specifications, equipment, techniques and procedures applicable to
the services, which the Company supplies to the Customer, and this
wntten practice (See Appendix 7)
41, ADMINISTRATION OF THE EXAMINATION

+ The NOT Level Ill is responsible for preparing or choosing questions,
procedures and specimens, grading and evaluating the results of performance
‘of candidate, He shall also approve all examination questions.
‘The NOT Level Ill shall be responsible for the administration of examination
Specified in section 10 of this procedure, The administration and grading of
‘examination may be delegated to a quaied representative of the NOT Level
Ill and s0 recorded. Only NOT level I! shall perform actual administration and
‘grading of Level Ill Specific Examination as specified in part 10.8 ofthis written
practice.

‘All writen examination shall be closed book except that necessary data
(graphs, tables, specifications, formulas...) may be provided with or in the
‘examination
If the Company purchases outside services, the NDT Level Ill shall be
responsible for ensuring that the examination services meets the requirements
ofthis writen practice.
12. GRADING OF EXAMINATION
Each examination shall be based on 100 points (100%)
‘The grade shall be a composite grade of three examinations including General,
‘Specific and Practical on simple average.
‘The candidate for Level | or Level I shall be qualified for certification if he meets
‘wo following conditions:
+ Apassing grade shall be at least 70% in each one or greater
+ A.composite passing grade shall be 60% or greater
‘The candidate for level Ill shall be qualified for cortifcation if he meets two
following conditions:
+ Having a valid ASNT NDT Level Il Cerificate in the Method or other one
1a specified in part 6.3 ofthis procedure.
+ Appassing grade shall be at least 70% in Specific Examination,
‘The Company will delete specific examination for ASNT NDT level Il if the
candidate has documented evidence of experience exists, including the
Preparation of provedures to codes, standards, or specifications and the
evaluation of test results,
‘A valid. endorsement on an ASNT NOT Level Il certificate fullls the
‘examination criteria described in part 10.5 for each applicable NOT method.
43. GRANTING OF THE CERTIFICATION
Candidate qualified for this procedure shall be granted of TTA NDT certification
{for elevant level and method,
‘TTAsia Co, Lté NDT certicaton shall be verified by NDT Level Ill and approved
by Director who is certifying Authority.

RE-EXAMINATION
= Those faling to attain the required grade must satisfy three following conditions
{or re-examination:
+ Towait atleast 30 days,
+ Tobe proposed by Industry Department,
+ Tobe approved by Director.
+ NDT Level Ill shall confirm the quantity of re-examinations. Under any
circumstance, previous used test shall not be re-used for the next one:
+ Result evaluation shall be carried out mentioned in Section 12.
‘TERMINATION
= The employers certification shall be deemed revoked when employment is
terminated.
A Level I, Level I, or Level Ill whose cerifcation has been terminated may be
Certified to the former NDT level by a TTAsia Co.,Ltd based on examination, as
described in Section 10, provided all ofthe following conditions are met to the
TTAsia Co. Lic's satisfaction
+The employee has proof of prior cerification.
+ The employee was working in the capacity to which certified within si (6)
months of termination
The employee is being recertified within six (6) months of termination.
‘TECHNICAL PERFORMANCE EVALUATION
‘The NOT Level Il annually evaluates NOT personnel’ technical capabilly, or
any time of arisen matters as customers’ complaints, proposal of project
management, manager of sector or department, colleagues and job
interuption.
~The technical performance of Level | and Il personnel should be evaluated and
documented by a NDT Level Il. The evaluation and documentation shall follow
the format and guidelines deserted in Section 10.4
= The result shall be made and documented in incvidual certification file, which
‘shall be managed by Industry Department.
